Attorney handles:- Child protection- Child support- Civil issues- Criminal issues- Third-party involuntary commitments- Traffic violationsCrime victim services provide the following services:- Advocacy- Crime victim rights information- Assistance in understanding the victim's rights- Education about the criminal justice system- Information about what is happening in the case and procedure- Information on eligibility and restitution from the defendant or the Minnesota Reparations Board- Liaison with the prosecutor for victims and witnesses- Limited emergency funds for victims- Provide assistance with testimony preparations during trials and writing/presenting victim impact statements - Referral to counseling or assistance programs
