What is a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)A SANE is a specially trained medical provider with a minimum of an RN degree, who: Provides comprehensive care to the sexual assault survivor Conducts a forensic examination and collection of evidence Can be called as an expert witness in the courtroom Why should I see a SANE Nurse?Available 24/7 Non-threatening and sensitive exam and evidence collection Knowledgeable and can answer your questions Can address concerns regarding sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy Will review your options with you and respect your decisions Where can I find a SANE Nurse?SANE's are currently available 24-hours in the emergency departments of: Grand Itasca Hospital and Clinic Deer River HealthCare Center Bigfork Valley
