Maternal Child Health (MCH) Individualized prenatal and postpartum home visits by a public health nurse to meet the needs of the client. Services include: - Assessment- Car seat safety education- Child & growth development- Childhood injury prevention- Development of family/personal goals and infant and child safety- Health mentoring- Parenting- Support and referrals to appropriate community resources- Teaching Parenting Program- Develops parenting skills and knowledge- Increases Parent-child bond- Provides home visits for prenatal moms or parents with children up to age 3Uses the evidence-based curriculum - Growing Great Kids (GGK) Follow-Along-Program - An early childhood intervention system for children up to 3 years of age.- Periodic questionnaires are sent to the parents of children at certain ages to gauge health and development. Questionnaires are reviewed and if there are concerns, a nurse contacts the parents. Prenatal and postpartum support and education Home visiting services also available for children from birth to age 21 who have a physical disability, chronic illness or emotional limitations.
