General Assistance - GA - Carlton County Public Health and Human Services - Financial Assistance Division

Provides financial help to persons not eligible for Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) or Minnesota Supplemental Aid (MSA). This is generally for persons between the age of 18 and 65 who are unable to work.

- 8 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday - Walk in: 10 am - 2 pm Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; 12:30 pm - 2 pm Thursday; walk-ins are welcome on Fridays when there is an emergency situation

Eligibility

- Single adults, ages 18 - 65, or couples (without children) who are Carlton County residents and meet the income and asset limits. - Most applicants and recipients are required to apply for benefits from federally funded disability programs for which they may qualify, such as Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income
