Home visiting service by public health nurses during pregnancy and through the first two years of life after a baby is born. Home visits are voluntary and there is no charge. Visits focus on the woman's health, the infant's health and development, parenting and caretaking role, and the family's plans for the future. The program includes:
- Childbirth and breastfeeding education
- Family planning information
- Health screenings and linkage to community resources
- Lead counseling
- Mental wellbeing referrals and support
- Parenting education and child developmental screenings
- Supportive nurse visits
- Smoking cessation information
- WIC/nutrition counseling
