Provides outpatient substance use treatment services to patients. Sanford Health's licensed alcohol and drug counselors will guide patients from addiction to recovery in a supportive environment. The patient and their doctor will develop a treatment plan tailored to the patient's need. Treatment may involve:
- Behavioral therapy
- Counseling for individual therapy and family therapy
- Detoxification
- Long-term medical support to address physical effects
- Medications that help relieve withdrawal symptoms, lessen cravings, and restore brain function
- Treatment is dependent upon age, overall health, severity of dependency, and how the patient handles procedures, medicines, and therapies
