Animal Adoption and Surrender Services - Brown County Humane Society
Canine and feline adoption fees include: - A general physical examination and behavioral evaluation by a veterinarian - Canine heartworm test or feline leukemia test (if applicable) - Canine or feline distemper combination vaccination and bordetella (canines only). Age-appropriate canines and felines also receive a rabies vaccination whenever possible - Other treatments (flea, tick, lice, ear mites, ringworm) if needed - Some pets arrive with injured eyes, ears, limbs, and lacerations that need treatment - Spay/neuter surgery costs - Worming medication Provides a place to surrender/relinquish pets from owners who are no longer able to care for them. Surrender must take place at the shelter building by the original owner of the animal. If full the owner will be placed on a "surrender" list.

- A deposit is required for those animals under 16 weeks of age. This deposit is refunded after the owner spays/neuters the animal after the animal reaches 16 weeks of age. Prices of animals after tax: - Adult dog - $134.84 - Adult cat - $107.88 - Puppy - $188.78 - Kitten $161.81 - Senior Dog - $59.33 - Senior Cat - $43.15 - Surrender fee: $100 per animal
