  • Diner's Clubs: Local restaurants offer meals for older adults ages 60 and older throughout the day or over the lunch hour with no reservations required.
  • Community Dining Centers: Community dining locations offer well balanced, hot meals. Meals include milk and are served daily around noon. Special diets such as diabetic, controlled sodium, and low-fat/low-cholesterol can be accommodated through meals. Upon request, hot or frozen carryout meals are provided.
  • Food Vendor Services: Registered dietitians create diverse, fresh, nutritious meals to comply with federal guidelines childcare, schools and older adults. Offers a wide range of menu items to satisfy a wide range or customers.
  • Meals on Wheels: Volunteers deliver locally prepared hot meals Monday - Friday and perform a safety check for older adults unable to leave their homes. Frozen meals available for weekends, holidays, and other closure days.
  • Meals to Go: Provides shipped frozen homestyle meals. Each shipment includes 14 frozen meals.
In addition to a nutritious meal, Senior Nutrition provides seniors:

Provides hot congregate meals on a regular basis for elderly or disabled adults who may be at risk for nutritional deficits without assistance and who can profit from opportunities to socialize with others:
  • Special foods for individuals on diabetic, low-salt, and low-fat diets

  • Meals are prepared by licensed restaurants, hospitals, caterers, etc. and then individually packaged and frozen or refrigerated, and donated to Community Food Response
  • Anyone can pick up a meal to take home and warm up (if necessary) to eat. Clients who do not have the ability to heat food will be provided with food that does not require this.
  • Clients may use the service as often as needed
  • Amount and type of food depends on the food supply and number of clients per family using the service
  • Will provide food for special diets that are medically necessary (such as diabetic or gluten-free) when available; also honors religious dietary restrictions, such as no pork

Emphasizes skills necessary for independent living with the greatest emphasis on vocational training and job skills. The majority of clients are involved in supported community employment. Job placements include:

  • Recycling services
  • Retail crafts
  • Food service industry
The DAC operates the following:
  • Recycling center
  • Ink pen and pin back button assembly station
  • Retail craft industry
  • Non-vocational programs
  • Daily hot lunches, meals are prepared according to individual client dietary needs. Program serves meals for clients with chewing problems, choking issues, diabetes, food allergies, and cholesterol concerns.
  • Medical monitoring and administration services in tandem with health care providers and client residential facilities
  • Transportation to the Regional Fitness Center for work creating and meeting fitness goals, most clients qualify for free memberships to the center
Training in independent living skills and speech therapy are provided when necessary The DAC also provides job training and employment in various sub-contracted jobs

Distributes a 5-day supply of food one time per month; may request a second visit to be approved. Stocked with non-perishable items that meet specific medical diet requirements. In addition to food, this program can provide:
  • Guidance regarding existing programs that address medical needs
  • Advocacy throughout the application process for programs that address medical needs
  • Nutrition education
  • Food preparation instruction
  • Referrals to other agencies that can provide support
