?- Wisdom Steps Program: Preventative health program. Encourages elders to actively participate in programs that promote health screenings, health education, healthy living activities and evidence-based health programs. Elders who become members of the program and complete a minimum of 46,000 steps per year, and complete health screenings and exams become eligible to attend the annual Wisdom Steps Conference Free of charge. Participants earn incentives and recognition at the conference for their work towards becoming healthy and the number of steps that they walk during the year through a Tier system.

Offers several senior nutrition programs:
  • Community Dining Locations: Provides affordable meals in a community atmosphere at several senior housing center locations
  • Dine-In or Take-out Service Options: Local restaurants offer meals throughout the day or over the lunch hour with no reservations required
  • Meals on Wheels Home-Deliver Options: Hot, nutritious meals are typically delivered Monday - Friday to homebound older adults. Frozen meals are available for weekends, holidays, and other closure days. Clients choose their delivery schedule (minimum of 3 meals per week). They may also choose to have a hot meal delivered daily by a volunteer or choose a combination of hot meals and frozen meals delivered on the days that work best for them.
  • Bundled Service Program: Nutritious frozen meals, food shelf commodities, and Nutritional Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) food boxes are available to older adults living in rural areas outside of the local Meals on Wheels delivery area. 10 or 14 meal packs are delivered in Aitkin, Itasca, Lake, and Saint Louis counties. This program also serves as a safety net for participants, as check-ins are provided to the individual.
In addition to nutritious meals, the service includes nutrition screening, assessment, and education. A Registered Dietician completes a nutritional analysis and approves the cycle menus. Meals comply with the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans and provide a minimum of 1/3 of the dietary reference intake established by the Food and Nutrition Board.
