Provides a hot, nutritious noon meal to older adults, adults with disabilities, or adults who are terminally ill and with limited mobility who are unable to prepare their own meals. Meals are provided by local caterers and delivered by volunteers. Program Coordinators will meet individually with client to discuss nutrition and other services available to aid them in remaining independent.Volunteer opportunities available to drive for Meals on Wheels.

Elder services include the following:- Monthly newsletters to keep communication available on planned activities (i.e. concerts, pow-wows, etc.) and other information- Nutritious meals served Monday - Friday at Nett Lake and Vermilion Community Centers with home-delivered meals available to elders who are unable to go to the sites- Transportation for shopping monthly?- Wisdom Steps Program: Preventative health program. Encourages elders to actively participate in programs that promote health screenings, health education, healthy living activities and evidence-based health programs. Elders who become members of the program and complete a minimum of 46,000 steps per year, and complete health screenings and exams become eligible to attend the annual Wisdom Steps Conference Free of charge. Participants earn incentives and recognition at the conference for their work towards becoming healthy and the number of steps that they walk during the year through a Tier system.

Congregate dining and home delivered meal services

Connects and provides older adults and their caregivers with services in their community to allow them to live long, healthy, and independent lives in their own homes. Services include:- Food Assistance: Congregate dining locations offering low-cost meals, low-cost frozen meals, home-delivered meals, NAPS, and SNAP- Healthy Living: Blood pressure checks, fall prevention screenings, telehealth conferences, Tai Chi and yoga sessions, and stretching/balance education- Information Services: Offers memory loss education and Dementia Friends, Medicare counseling and assistance, fraud/scam identification and prevention, assistance with internet search, assistance with Healthcare Directives and Power of Attorney forms, and classes to older adults- Mobile Community Center: Brings services and socialization to the door or community. The vehicle is equipped with high-speed internet, flat-screen TV, applications for programs, and meeting space for coffee and conversation.- Social: Offers card parties, coffee and conversation time, caregiver respite, karaoke parties, video calls and chats with friends, and social media assistance

Nutritious meals are provided via:- Diner's Clubs: Local restaurants offer meals for older adults ages 60 and older throughout the day or over the lunch hour with no reservations required. - Community Dining Centers: Community dining locations offer well balanced, hot meals. Meals include milk and are served daily around noon. Special diets such as diabetic, controlled sodium, and low-fat/low-cholesterol can be accommodated through meals. Upon request, hot or frozen carryout meals are provided.- Food Vendor Services: Registered dietitians create diverse, fresh, nutritious meals to comply with federal guidelines childcare, schools and older adults. Offers a wide range of menu items to satisfy a wide range or customers. - Meals on Wheels: Volunteers deliver locally prepared hot meals Monday - Friday and perform a safety check for older adults unable to leave their homes. Frozen meals available for weekends, holidays, and other closure days. - Meals to Go: Provides shipped frozen homestyle meals. Offers a variety of educational, social, and recreational programs to community members who are 55 and older. Programs include fitness classes, arts and crafts, games, music, social clubs, outdoor activities, and lifelong learning opportunities. Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid visits are held on the 3rd Monday of each month (appointments are required).

Volunteer-delivered meals for older adults who are unable to prepare meals. Meals are delivered at 12 noon.

Offers several senior nutrition programs:- Community Dining Locations: Provides affordable meals in a community atmosphere at several senior housing center locations- Dine-In or Take-out Service Options: Local restaurants offer meals throughout the day or over the lunch hour with no reservations required- Meals on Wheels Home-Deliver Options: Hot, nutritious meals are typically delivered Monday - Friday to homebound older adults. Frozen meals are available for weekends, holidays, and other closure days. Clients choose their delivery schedule (minimum of 3 meals per week). They may also choose to have a hot meal delivered daily by a volunteer or choose a combination of hot meals and frozen meals delivered on the days that work best for them.- Bundled Service Program: Nutritious frozen meals, food shelf commodities, and Nutritional Assistance Program for Seniors (NAPS) food boxes are available to older adults living in rural areas outside of the local Meals on Wheels delivery area. 10 or 14 meal packs are delivered in Aitkin, Itasca, Lake, and Saint Louis counties. This program also serves as a safety net for participants, as check-ins are provided to the individual.In addition to nutritious meals, the service includes nutrition screening, assessment, and education. A Registered Dietician completes a nutritional analysis and approves the cycle menus. Meals comply with the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans and provide a minimum of 1/3 of the dietary reference intake established by the Food and Nutrition Board.

Hot meal delivered to client's home at lunchtime. There are no late afternoon meals. Special diets cannot be accommodated but diabetic desserts are available.

Trained advocates providing information and resources to people over the age of 60. The goal is to assist residents in finding resources to stay in the home and find possible options for alternative living situations. Helps with services such as:- Assist with plans for recreational activities- Caregiver education and support- Caregiver relief- Community education- Consumer protection- Deliver home meals and work with nutrition sites- Forms assistance- Health care directives- Home visits- Medicare Part D enrollment- Nutrition Assistance Program for seniors (NAP)- Partners with Senior Linkage Line and Area Agency on Aging- Scams/fraud- Senior legal rights- Transportation resources- Volunteer recruitment and training

Provides home delivered meals. Meals are available Monday through Friday and may be ongoing or temporary for someone recovering from illness or surgery. Frozen meal options are also available to add to the delivery.
