Homeless Program - White Earth Nation
Provides Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP) services and is accessible to individuals who are facing a housing crisis, are homeless, or are at risk of imminent homelessness. Services include:
- Prevention Services: Temporary financial assistance and/or supportive services to help people remain in their current housing situation, relocate, or divert them from entering the homeless system. Financial assistance is provided for rental assistance, mortgage assistance, and utility payment assistance.

Provides free and confidential services to those affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking/exploitation, and high-risk youth in Lincoln, Lyon, Redwood, and Yellow Medicine counties.

- Accompaniment to court
- Assistance with petitioning for an Order for Protection or Harassment Restraining Order
- Community education
- Crisis line
- Emergency transportation, and/or assistance
- Information, referrals, and resources

Coordinated Entry Services (CES): The Housing Advocacy Services Department participates in the Southeast Minnesota River Valleys Continuum of Care Coordinated Entry Services (CES) for housing and support services for households experiencing homelessness

Funds will vary on a monthly basis. The Prevention Assistance fund assists families and individuals facing eviction with back-rent financial assistance and landlord-tenant negotiation assistance. Case management includes services such as transportation assistance, information/referral, and landlord tenant law training with the goal of achieving housing stability moving forward.
Rapid Re-Housing (RRH): Provides short-term rent assistance and/or deposit for individuals and families with children who are homeless to get into permanent affordable housing where the participant is the leaseholder and chooses their own apartment according to their needs. RRH includes case management services such as life skills training, transportation assistance, information/referral, landlord tenant law training, and utility assistance for up to six months with the goal of obtaining and subsequently maintaining stable housing. Households will be assessed and prioritized using the Coordinated Entry System.
Long-Term Assistance: The Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program provides high-barrier households experiencing homelessness with affordable rental housing and supportive services that assist participants with maintaining housing stability, improving overall wellness, engaging in the community and leading successful lives. PSH targets households that need intensive case management services due to challenges such as significant and persistent mental health issues and chemical dependency. Households will be assessed and prioritized using the Coordinated Entry System.

24-Hour Emergency Assistance
- Provides on-call counseling and problem solving and/or immediate response for assistance at a person's home due to a health or personal emergency.
NOTE: Program does not provide direct rental assistance. Only helps navigate resources to access funding.

- Provides support to individuals and families in securing and maintaining safe, stable housing. Works closely with various providers and shelters to ensure that everyone has access to the housing resources.

- Often able to assist with past-due rent or mortgage, first month's rent and deposit for homeless individuals and families, application assistance, transportation assistance, and more
- Funding comes from a variety of sources including the Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program - FHPAP as well as others.
- Helps people find affordable housing, connects people to job resources, and works with people on a plan to be in stable housing long-term
- Often able to assist with past-due rent or mortgage, first month's rent and deposit for homeless individuals and families, application assistance, transportation assistance, and more

Anoka County Social Services - Salvation Army Twin Cities Social Services
Food shelf which can be used once in a 30-day period. Families receive food for three - five days. Hygiene items may be available as supplies last.
Vouchers for clothing (adults and families), and bedding/linens. Provides Bridging referrals for individuals needing furniture.
Transportation: Bus and gas cards are available for individuals who are experiencing homelessness and in a Coordinated Entry program or for individuals who are starting a job but haven't received their first paycheck yet.

Coordinated Entry assessments for adult families and singles 24 and older in Anoka County
Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP): Funds are only available to individuals and families facing an eviction. Funding varies month to month and may not be available. NOTE: One phone line is set aside for this program. It stays open until there are more than 80 requests per week. Then it is closes until staff are caught up on intakes. When the intakes are caught up, the line is opened again. Individuals should try the phone number a few times throughout the week.
If someone asks, let them know to keep checking Line 5 - it will open again soon.
