Youth Services - Tubman

Provides violence prevention, intervention, support, outreach services, and leadership opportunities for youth in residential and community settings. Provides a variety of services to youth of all genders who have experienced relationship violence, sexual assault or exploitation, stalking, or homelessness. Programs include: Movement for Violence Prevention (MVP): Leadership development activities to assist youth-led community engagement, skill enhancement, peer connections, and tools for change to prevent youth violence. Inspiring Youth: A year-long, intensive, community-based program for youth ages 10 - 17 and their families who have been impacted by violence. Youth workers provide comprehensive and culturally responsive mentorship, support, and access to services, activities, and leadership opportunities. Youth Site-Based and Community-Based Housing: Transitional housing for youth and young adults who are victims of violence and exploitation, including sex trafficking. Safety planning and support are provided. Voices in Prevention (VIP): A 6-week violence prevention curriculum serving middle and high school students. Curriculum might also include support groups, one-on-one sessions, peer mediation, and service learning. Youth Safety Plans: Specialized safety plans for youth NorthStar Youth Outreach Center: A drop-in center for homeless youth offering advocacy, safety planning, and connections to additional community resources. Resource Centers: During designated drop-in hours, YMCA Resource Centers are staffed by an Outreach Worker who can help youth, ages 12 - 24, with basic needs support such as food, clothes, hygiene items, household supplies, parenting items, and more. Also during drop-in hours, youth can stop in to get their coordinated entry assessment completed, help find shelter, be screened for prevention services, or access other YMCA resources/services. Four locations: Lion's Resource Center/Northeast Minneapolis, Elliott Park, Emma's Place in Coon Rapids, and North Community YMCA. Safe Stay Emergency Shelter: Moves youth off the streets into a safe space and provides supportive services. School and Street Outreach: Youth Outreach Workers provide services for youth and young adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness at schools and out in the community to meet immediate needs and connect them to community resources. Youth Resource Line: A free message line for local youth ages 12 - 24 who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk. Assistance with resources and community referrals.

Trained volunteer advocates work one-to-one with individuals to help them achieve stability and greater self-sufficiency through services that include: - Accountable relationships - Referrals to community programs and services - Self-development opportunities - Teaching the skills needed for self-sufficiency such as financial management, interviewing, organization, gaining and maintaining stable housing, social skills, self-care, making appointments, and self-advocacy ?NOTE: Participants are expected to make and keep appointments with their advocate at least once a month. Resources are available to support actions taken towards stability goals.

Northern Lights Drop In Center - Servants of Shelter - International Falls

Emergency Shelter and Day Center for people experiencing homelessness. Servants of Shelter operates a 5 apartment unit Family Shelter. Shelter guests receive Case Management and Housing Resource Navigation services during their 30-90 day stay. SOS operates a Day Center with laundry, showers, a communal kitchen, hygiene items, and more. SOS also operates two Permanent Supportive Housing programs for people living with disabilities who are also experiencing homelessness.
