The Day Center building is used by families to bathe, launder their clothes, receive case management, and look for housing and jobs. Volunteers give their time by providing transportation, meals, and sharing hospitality. At any given time, there are 20 plus families on the waiting list.

During their stay, residents are provided case management services to help with budgeting skills, goal planning, and referrals to community resources and services. Residents work toward securing daycare, finding a job if they do not already have one, saving money, and finding affordable housing. Residents are not allowed to have pets. They must make arrangements for them before staying at the shelter.
