Accessible Home Construction
The Affordable Housing Program partners with the Minnesota Department of Corrections to create affordable housing in West Central Minnesota. Homes are built and modified by request to make homes more accessible. A variety of floor plans are available depending on the family's needs. The homes built are durable, energy efficient, and require minimal maintenance. Housing staff can assist in the steps of purchasing a new home, the mortgage lending process, and refer households to lenders such as the First Time Homebuyer programs and Rural Development programs.
