Homebuyers Workshop - Scott County Community Development Agency

Homebuyers Club meets first-time homebuyer education requirements. Classes are offered quarterly. Some topics covered during the Homebuyers Club: - Budgeting - Choosing a mortgage - Do-it-yourself home maintenance - Goal setting - Identifying a "dream home" - Negotiating a sale - Predatory lending - Shopping for a realtor, loan officer and home inspector - Types of loans available - Understanding credit and reading a credit report - What to look for with a home inspector Graduates may be eligible for a grant from the Scott County Community Development Agency for down payment assistance.
