Emergency Assistance for Home Repairs: The applicant must own or live in the home and document the need for repair and the request must be reasonable
Emergency Assistance for Moving Expenses: Moving expenses include costs for transportation of personal property, utility hookups, and deposits. Total shelter costs must not exceed 75% of the applicant's net income. The move must be due to the denial of Emergency Assistance to pay existing shelter costs and the county has determined that moving will resolve the emergency.
Emergency Assistance for Shelter: Shelter costs must not exceed 75% of the applicant's net income and an unlawful detainer is required. The county will determine if assistance is available for individuals facing a loss of shelter and for individuals without shelter. Assistance may also include damage deposits.
Emergency Assistance for Utility Bills: The applicant must have received a final shut-off notice. Assistance may be available for expenses such as municipal water, sewer, natural gas, electricity, fuel oil, firewood, and trash removal. The utility service must verify it will continue or restore service based on the receipt of Emergency Assistance funds or other payments.
Emergency Assistance to Prevent Foreclosure: The applicant may request aid for an arrearage on contract-for-deed or mortgage payments when a foreclosure action occurs. The applicant must own, occupy, and maintain the home. The applicant's household income must be enough to pay housing costs over the next 12 months and can verify that their lender has denied refinancing.
