Youth Housing Services - Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota - Rochester

Helps young adults trying to live in a home or apartment on their own. Assistance with rent and or a rental deposit may be available. Youth may also receive financial assistance for furniture, household goods, utilities and food. The goal of the program is to support at-risk youth while they establish and maintain an independent household, and prevent future occurrences of homelessness.

Community Services - Damiano Center

Information, resources, and referral office to help people through difficult times. Staff provide an immediate assessment of emergency needs and offer resources to help deal with homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic abuse, unemployment, gambling addictions, mental health problems, and help with public assistance. Additional services offered at the center include: - 7 bus passes for the general public daily; usually gone by 9:10 am. Can be accessed twice per month and an intake form must be filled out. - Free telephone line, mailboxes for people who are homeless, hygiene items, and household goods - Safe Bay is located in the parking lot and offers individuals and families living in cars and vans a place to rest without fear of crime, harassment, or being moved along by law enforcement or private security guards. Individuals and families can access showers, breakfast and housing navigation services provided by Daminao Center. - Work related transportation: - Gas vouchers: MUST have valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and proof of employment. Can only be accessed once per year. - Bus pass: MUST have ID and proof of employment. The value of a bus pass is $25 and can only be accessed once per year.

Clothing and Household Items - Sonshine Closet

Sells and accepts donations of gently used clothing, furniture, and household items. All sales proceeds are put back into the community to provide for needs within the greater Moose Lake area and fund employment for adults with disabilities.

Food, Household Goods, Clothing, and Furniture Distribution - Angels of Hope

A help center and food pantry. Services include: - Donations accepted for households goods, non-perishable food items, and furniture in good condition - Food pantry items - Household goods such as furniture, clothing, and other small household goods. Washers, dryers, and refrigerators are available based on donations.

Comforts of Home - United Way of Northeastern Minnesota

Receives bedding, towels, rugs, and other household items for distribution. These products are then distributed to people in need in service territory based on a referral system. This program cannot provide furniture.

Provides a network of local churches into a partnership that links their resources and services to help community members in need as well as providing a chance to engage with the person. Resources and services provided include: - Appliances ?- Clothing - Financial counseling ??- Furniture - Household items - Information and referral to community resources - Mentoring - Minor car repairs - Transportation to appointments - Vacuums - Winter clothing All services are dependent on volunteer availability and donations; there is no guarantee of receiving services or assistance. Donation accepted are both monetary and personal care items, kitchen items, storage and garbage supplies, and laundry soaps and detergent.

Mission Outpost - Prince of Peace Lutheran Church

Provides resources for food, clothing, linen, household items, hygiene items, baby supplies, and furniture on a limited basis. Services provided: - Clothing: Offers general clothing items limited to 10 items per family member per month - Dental Clinic: Open to individuals without dental insurance. Services provided include extractions/pulling teeth and fillings for cavities. Services are prioritized by the level of pain patients are experiencing. - Diapers: Offers free diapers on an appointment basis - Food: Offers individuals food once a month in partnership with Salvation Army. Accepts food donation items such as pancake mix/syrup, spaghetti noodles/sauce, soups, bags of sugar four pounds or larger, canned fruit, canned vegetables, cereal, cooking oil, macaroni and cheese, small bags/boxes of rice, tuna, canned chicken, Helper Meals, peanut butter, jelly, beans - baked (in cans) and pinto (in bags). - Furniture Requests: Offers furniture and takes requests for furniture throughout the year - Resource Center: Assists people to apply for county services such as public assistance, energy assistance, and MNsure. Also helps individuals with resumes and searching for a job NOTE: Other donations accepted are houseware items, glassware, pots, pans, kitchen and table linens, silverware, personal hygiene items, laundry detergent, toiletries, limited pieces of small/large furniture items (sofas, love seats, tables, chairs, dressers, mattresses/box springs, metal bed frames, and tables).
