The Market Food Shelf - Hastings Family Service

- Individuals/families receive a 7-day supply of food including fresh or frozen meat, dairy, produce, non-perishable items, dry goods, and personal care items. Shopping is done in the in-person choice model or via a pre-packaged non-choice selection provided through the Market drive-thru option. Food can be accessed once a month per household. Emergency bags are also available. - Market Express is an express drive-thru food pick-up on specific dates throughout the month. Food package includes 3-4 day supply including meat, dairy, produce, and dry goods (contents may vary). Visit website for schedule, times, and to sign up. - Market Cart is a mobile produce program that delivers fresh produce to senior living communities - Market on the Move (MOM) provides a refrigerated van that distributes food throughout area communities and also offers snacks and lunches during the summer - Food shelf accepts donations of fresh, frozen, canned, packaged food, personal care items, and cleaning products

Anoka County Social Services - Salvation Army Twin Cities Social Services

Food shelf which can be used once in a 30-day period. Families receive food for three - five days. Hygiene items may be available as supplies last. Vouchers for clothing (adults and families), and bedding/linens. Provides Bridging referrals for individuals needing furniture. Transportation: Bus and gas cards are available for individuals who are experiencing homelessness and in a Coordinated Entry program or for individuals who are starting a job but haven't received their first paycheck yet. HeatShare, seasonal services, Family Camp, back to school program, seasonal programs Coordinated Entry assessments for adult families and singles 24 and older in Anoka County Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Program (FHPAP): Funds are only available to individuals and families facing an eviction. Funding varies month to month and may not be available. NOTE: One phone line is set aside for this program. It stays open until there are more than 80 requests per week. Then it is closes until staff are caught up on intakes. When the intakes are caught up, the line is opened again. Individuals should try the phone number a few times throughout the week. If someone asks, let them know to keep checking Line 5 - it will open again soon. Rapid Rehousing: Provides services for people experiencing homelessness that have found housing. Street Outreach: Provides outreach services such as food and transportation for people experiencing homelessness.

Youth Connections Drop-In Center - Connect Center, The

Drop-in center for homeless youth: - Provides computers for homework and job searches, a game room, kitchen, lockers, showers, storage areas, and a washer and dryer - Provides housing assessment for coordinated entry for youth who are at risk of being homeless, or are already homeless and seeking housing resources. Housing assessments can be provided over the phone. - Staff help youth get help with employment and housing searches, connect to resources, and receive basic need items (clean clothes, food, sleeping bags, and toiletries)

Community Services - Damiano Center

Information, resources, and referral office to help people through difficult times. Staff provide an immediate assessment of emergency needs and offer resources to help deal with homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic abuse, unemployment, gambling addictions, mental health problems, and help with public assistance. Additional services offered at the center include: - 7 bus passes for the general public daily; usually gone by 9:10 am. Can be accessed twice per month and an intake form must be filled out. - Free telephone line, mailboxes for people who are homeless, hygiene items, and household goods - Safe Bay is located in the parking lot and offers individuals and families living in cars and vans a place to rest without fear of crime, harassment, or being moved along by law enforcement or private security guards. Individuals and families can access showers, breakfast and housing navigation services provided by Daminao Center. - Work related transportation: - Gas vouchers: MUST have valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and proof of employment. Can only be accessed once per year. - Bus pass: MUST have ID and proof of employment. The value of a bus pass is $25 and can only be accessed once per year.

Brooklyn Park Social Service Office - Salvation Army Twin Cities Social Services

Vouchers for clothing (single adults only), bedding and kitchen items. Household: Furniture is not free. Vouchers are given to assist clients in the purchase of furniture at a discount price at the Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Clients must verify they have recently left a shelter, or that they have a new living situation or other crisis situation through a case worker, pastor, school social worker, landlord, etc. Vouchers are capped at $100 per family and can not be used for beds. Transportation: Clients can qualify for tokens or a bus card in one of two ways. The caseworker must be able to verify by telephone that the client has a permanent job for which they have not received their first paycheck or a permanent job interview or has a medical appointment. Hygiene: Items such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste are available. Clients are eligible once every two months. HeatShare, seasonal services, Family Camp, free yearly Phone Home project, back to school project, and emergency disaster services. Food support application assistance (SNAP)

Children's Programs - Community Emergency Assistance Programs - CEAP

- Baby and Toddler Care Packages: Clients participating in the food shelf may also receive a care package that contains diapers/pull-ups, wipes, onesies, hats, baby lotion and body wash, formula, bottles, and baby food. Not all items are always available based on supply. - Birthday Bags: Clients participating in the food shelf may receive a "Birthday Bag" for each child's birthday filled with candles, cake decorations, party favors for 6 - 8 kids, themed plates/napkins/etc., colorful party decorations (table cloths, paper streamers, etc.), and small toys or crafts. Parents can also choose one birthday cake or cupcakes. - LearnStrong Back To School: Provides backpacks filled with school supplies. - Toys of Joy Holiday Program: Provides a special event in December where parents can shop for toys for their children.

The food shelf offers fresh produce, dairy products, eggs, meat, grains, shelf stable protein, cooking and baking ingredients, baby food, and more. - Donations accepted such as fresh and frozen food items, diapers, and money - Families with young children can access diapers ranging from size newborn - 6 years and diaper wipes every week - Home delivery may be available to community members with limited mobility or special circumstances - Items provided may also include feminine hygiene products, household products, toiletries, detergent, and soap. Items are dependent upon donations. - Staff can assist with applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and refer to other resources

Based on the idea of the "little free library", a smaller, more private way to help individuals in need. People may stop by the pantry outside to pick up what they need without having to come into the building to talk to someone.
