JumpStartDonated: Helps purchase a safe, reliable, fuel-efficient car. Approved applicants are able to secure a low-interest loan, down payment assistance, and build a personal repair fund. BikePlus: Program to support clients who can't afford to drive or don't have a drivers license to be able to better meet their transportation needs - especially when used in combination with the bus to extend routes and offer more flexibility. Participants are given a bike, helmet, lock, multi-tool, and water bottle. Monthly meetings gather clients for presentations on "rules of the road", "route finding", "bike maintenance", and on how transportation planning and policy works, then all participate in a group ride. Participants are encouraged to bring the whole family and kids are given bikes as well. Participants are encouraged to speak up at public hearings to advocate for safe streets, bike lanes and smart design. DRIVE: Driver's Licenses, Insurance, Vehicle Education. Helps participants with children to obtain their Driver's License (either for the 1st time or after suspension or revocation) to increase access to employment, activities and social connections. Drive also helps to navigate auto insurance and runs the Car Care Class. Car Care Class: CCC is a monthly offering to DRIVE participants and the public to learn more about cars, their upkeep, how to shop, how to maintain, how to get insurance, etc

Free community bike shop located in the basement of the Dorothy Day House. Volunteer mechanics are available to help individuals build and maintain their own bicycles. Bicycle distribution priority given to individuals with no other transportation options. Individuals are asked to volunteer in exchange for services.

Winona Volunteer Services offers vouchers to meet transportation needs for people who are struggling. Before a voucher is given an in-depth conversation will take place between the individual and staff to determine individual's circumstances. Vouchers may be issued for: - Bicycles for individuals without transportation who are either looking for work through an employment agency or are currently employed and agree to forego all future requests for bus passes, gas, etc - Bus passes (city) for work, school, or seeking employment - Bus or train tickets for individuals or families needing a one-way ticket in verified emergency situations (for after-hours transportation emergencies contact Law Enforcement Dispatch Center) - Gas for valid and insured driver working with an employment agency to job search or experiencing unexpected circumstance such as reduced work hours - Taxi cabs vouchers may be used in urgent circumstances
Advocacy services - Carla Pearson LISW with Three Rivers can assist seniors age 60 and older, as well as their families, with information, referrals, and resources to help keep them independent - (507)732-8528 or (507)421-6067 Bike borrow program Bicycles are available for seniors or community members to borrow. Locks and helmets are available. Care call-In Free service offered to family for peace of mind and safety, seniors call the center by 9 am or they will receive a call to check on them. - Bike Cops for Kids: Program designed to create goodwill and fight crime in targeted Minneapolis neighborhoods. Police on bicycles ride through neighborhoods and pass out bicycle helmets and bicycles to children. Children are selected randomly. NOTE: There is no way to sign children up or to contact the Minneapolis Police department to receive a free bicycle or helmet. - Block club organizing, neighborhood watch force - Crime Free Multi-Housing Program - Crime maps and advice on how to choose a place to live - Coordination for National Night Out - Home and business security demonstrations - Graffiti prevention and removal information.
