Prairie Five RIDES Transportation Program - Prairie Five Community Action

- Bus and vans are accessible, but volunteer drivers' vehicles are not - Daily city service is offered 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, in the following cities; Appleton, Benson, Canby, Dawson, Madison, Montevideo, and Ortonville - Service is available for travel throughout the region and to destinations outside the region: Twin Cities, Marshall, Willmar, St. Cloud; areas throughout the state with volunteer drivers and some locations to North / South Dakota (call to ask about destinations outside the region). - School Year Rides and Summer Recreation Rides are available to students attending schools and recreation programs in the following cities: Appleton, Benson, Canby, Dawson, Granite Falls, Madison, and Montevideo

Transportation Program - Community Thread

Transportation for medical appointments and other essential needs such as groceries, medications, etc.: - Volunteers use their own vehicle - Unable to transport individuals with wheelchairs or scooters - Able to assist those with a cane or walker provided that the individual can get into the vehicle. Drivers cannot lift riders. - Door-to-door or door through door depending on the individual's needs - Only available to those living in the Stillwater Area School District #834 Services are part of Community Thread's THRIVE program.

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation - AmeriCare Mobility Van

Provides non-emergency transportation to and from hospital services, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, private residences, clinics, schools, and autism centers. Transportation is for individuals with mobility issues who use walkers, standard, extra-wide, geriatric, and electric wheelchairs, car seats, and scooters. Also able to transport medical equipment. Travels to all Twin Cities and Rochester medical facilities and airports. Accompaniment travelers are welcome.

Transportation Services - Westonka/Hennepin County and Carver County - WeCAB

A network of volunteer drivers who provide safe, affordable, and flexible supplemental transportation for worship services, medical appointments, access to Metro Transit, shopping local businesses (grocery stores, food shelves), community services (volunteer or social events), and running errands. Provides rides 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, depending on volunteer driver availability. Volunteer drivers use their personal vehicles and have passed a background check. There is a rider handbook, and a volunteer driver application and handbook available on the website. Volunteer opportunities include: driver, dispatcher, sponsor, and rider registrar.

Veteran Services - Fillmore County Veterans Service Office

The department assists veterans and their families in obtaining local, state, and federal benefits that they are entitled to receive. Emergency financial assistance may be available for a variety of basic needs (could include utilities, shelter, food, transportation, etc.), if requests are approved by Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs. Some medical equipment may be available for loan such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs. Transportation is available for veterans to medical services at VA hospital in Minneapolis on odd numbered days of the month.

Provides a shared ride program offering transportation to anyone who needs a ride. Uses public transit buses and volunteer drivers who use personal vehicles. Services provided: - Dial-a-ride service, medical appointment transportation, door-to-door, and curb-to-curb pickups are available - Volunteer drivers available for trips outside of primary area including Mankato, Rochester, the Twin Cities, Willmar, and Worthington NOTE: Car seats are mandatory. Seats must be provided for children up to age four when riding in car.

Public Transportation - Rainbow Rider

Provides a public transit system that serves Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens, Todd, and Traverse counties. All buses are equipped with lifts. Each bus seats 12 or more passengers plus two wheel chair positions. Buses travel as requested by contact with dispatchers. Dispatchers help with ride requests by arranging for volunteer drivers or scheduling spaces on buses.

Provides the following services: - 24-hour and holiday availability - Companion services - Errand running/shopping assistance - Homemaker assistance - In-home meal preparation - Mobility assistance, transfer with gait belt, TED Hose Assistance - Personal care such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and hair care - Respite care - Transportation to medical appointments, grocery, etc. to clients who require a minimum of 3 hours of home management and home care a week. Clients must be able to transfer to the vehicle. Door-to-door service provided. Driver will wait for the client during the appointment.
