Transportation Assistance - Winona Volunteer Services

Offers vouchers to meet transportation needs for people who are struggling. Before a voucher is given an in-depth conversation will take place between the individual and staff to determine individual's circumstances. Vouchers may be issued for: - Bicycles for individuals without transportation who are either looking for work through an employment agency or are currently employed and agree to forego all future requests for bus passes, gas, etc - Bus passes (city) for work, school, or seeking employment - Bus or train tickets for individuals or families needing a one-way ticket in verified emergency situations (for after-hours transportation emergencies contact Law Enforcement Dispatch Center) - Gas for valid and insured driver working with an employment agency to job search or experiencing unexpected circumstance such as reduced work hours - Taxi cabs vouchers may be used in urgent circumstances

Brooklyn Park Social Service Office - Salvation Army Twin Cities Social Services

Vouchers for clothing (single adults only), bedding and kitchen items. Household: Furniture is not free. Vouchers are given to assist clients in the purchase of furniture at a discount price at the Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Clients must verify they have recently left a shelter, or that they have a new living situation or other crisis situation through a case worker, pastor, school social worker, landlord, etc. Vouchers are capped at $100 per family and can not be used for beds. Transportation: Clients can qualify for tokens or a bus card in one of two ways. The caseworker must be able to verify by telephone that the client has a permanent job for which they have not received their first paycheck or a permanent job interview or has a medical appointment. Hygiene: Items such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste are available. Clients are eligible once every two months. Emergency Financial Assistance - Salvation Army - Clearwater

A private, non-profit organization serving Clearwater County. (Requests from outside of the county will not necessarily be denied) The purpose of Salvation Army is to provide moral and spiritual support, material goods, food, shelter, and transportation for those unable to provide for themselves. Every situation is reviewed individually Conditions of service: - Will maintain anonymity and confidentiality - Will require name, address and Social Security number in order to provide ANY services. - If a person doesn't have a Social Security card, a driver's license may be acceptable. Emergency General Assistance meets the emergency needs of eligible individuals who are in an emergency and who are residents of the state. EGA can offer emergency help with the following: - Damage or rental deposits on a case-by-case basis - Home repairs that make the house livable or clean up expenses for an apartment or home to make it livable - Moving expenses. May provide assistance to older adults or individuals living with a disability with moving fees associated with moving companies that pick up belongings and relocate the resident to a new residence. - Other additional food support for people who have special dietary needs - Property tax help for past due taxes - Transportation to relocate on a case-by-base basis for bus tickets only - Utility bills at risk of shut off such as electric, heating, or water bills. Rent must be current and up-to-date in order to receive assistance for utility help. NOTE: EGA does not help with rent assistance. Households who need rent assistance must apply through the Tenant Resource Connection Rent Help Hennepin application.

Basic Needs and Spiritual Assistance - Common Cup Ministry

Through a voucher system administered by on-call volunteers from member churches, funds are set up to help those who fall in between the cracks of other assistance. Vouchers are provided for electric service, gas money, gas service, heating fuel, rental deposit assistance, rent payment assistance, and water service assistance. Vouchers do not cover the amount of a total client's bill, the client must pay some of the bill on their own. Volunteers provide spiritual ministry as well as the ministry of meeting the person's basic needs for emergency food and shelter. Offers a variety of safe, accessible, and reliable transportation for individuals living with disabilities who live in Minnesota. Transportation programs include: - Reach in Motion: Enables individuals to use county waiver or county funds to cover Lyft rides through a Lyft Pass arranged by Reach's Transportation Manager. Lyft rides do not have geographic limitations and out-of-pocket costs. - Trail by Reach: Provides transportation for adults with developmental disabilities living in Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Edina, Golden Valley, Saint Louis Park, and Richfield. Transportation rides are for recreation, leisure, and educational programs, if a program is hosted in one of the designated cities.

Helps with uniforms, work clothing, work boots/shoes, tools, gas, auto expenses (excluding routine maintenance, cosmetic repairs and/or loan payments) and childcare. Amount of financial assistance is based on verified need, not to exceed $400. Payments are issued in the form of a purchase order or direct payment to the provider of services.
