The Minnesota Non-Emergency Transportation Program (MNET) offers transportation assistance for non-emergency medical services. The type of service available depends on the insurance provider of the caller and some insurance providers may limit transportation to within certain mileage. If transportation isn't available, mileage reimbursement or bus tokens may be provided (call for case-specific information).

Vouchers for clothing (single adults only), bedding and kitchen items. Household: Furniture is not free. Vouchers are given to assist clients in the purchase of furniture at a discount price at the Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Clients must verify they have recently left a shelter, or that they have a new living situation or other crisis situation through a case worker, pastor, school social worker, landlord, etc. Vouchers are capped at $100 per family and can not be used for beds. Transportation: Clients can qualify for tokens or a bus card in one of two ways. The caseworker must be able to verify by telephone that the client has a permanent job for which they have not received their first paycheck or a permanent job interview or has a medical appointment. Hygiene: Items such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste are available. Clients are eligible once every two months. Services include: - Education: Assists with obtaining a social security card, birth certificate, and/or state ID, application assistance for food stamps, Medical Assistance, or financial aid, advocating at school, connecting with GED tutors, and preparing for college applications. Financial assistance for obtaining vital documents is available. - Employment: Assists all youth with online job searches, applications, resumes, and practice interviewing. Providing work appropriate clothing, transportation in the form of bus passes and bus tokens to get to and from work and for interviews and Lyft/Uber for a job interview, and referrals to partner organizations to find other employment resources. Staff provide an immediate assessment of emergency needs and offer resources to help deal with homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic abuse, unemployment, gambling addictions, mental health problems, and help with public assistance. Additional services offered at the center include: - 7 bus passes for the general public daily; usually gone by 9:10 am. Can be accessed twice per month and an intake form must be filled out. - Free telephone line, mailboxes for people who are homeless, hygiene items, and household goods - Safe Bay is located in the parking lot and offers individuals and families living in cars and vans a place to rest without fear of crime, harassment, or being moved along by law enforcement or private security guards. Individuals and families can access showers, breakfast and housing navigation services provided by Daminao Center. - Work related transportation: - Gas vouchers: MUST have valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and proof of employment. Can only be accessed once per year. - Bus pass: MUST have ID and proof of employment. The value of a bus pass is $25 and can only be accessed once per year.

NEMT provides Medical Assistance (MA) members with a safe, appropriate, and cost-effective mode of transportation to get to and from non-emergency medical service appointments. Members can arrange NEMT for one-way or round trips. Direct financial assistance may include foreclosure payments, rent payments, rent subsidies, security deposits, first month's rent, utility payments, or other assistance to prevent eviction. The program is available to blood cancer patients with significant financial need. Those who qualify will receive $500, once within a 6 month period, to cover the cost of treatment-related travel and lodging expenses for the patient and caregiver, including: ground transportation; tolls; gas; parking; car rental; car maintenance, repairs, and parts; air transportation; baggage fees; lodging; and ambulance services. The following expenses are not covered: food and beverages, alcohol, tobacco, clothing, medical/pharmacy expenses, and international travel.
