Domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy and therapeutic services program offered through a multi-year grant from the State Office of Justice Programs. Services include: - Case management and resource referrals - Emotional support and coping skills - Group therapy - Individual therapy including art therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy, play therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Information about victim rights and resources - Learning about abuse, its effects, and opportunities for healing - Legal Advocacy: Court and law enforcement interview accompaniment; applying for an Order for Protection or Harassment Restraining Order - Safety planning

Crime Victim Services - Houston County Victim Services

Houston County Victim Services offers services and information for primary and secondary crime victims of homicide, drunk driving accidents, theft, kidnapping, burglary, assault, vandalism, arson, forgery, embezzlement, stalking, terrorism threats, harassment, sexual crimes, and other crimes. Services and information for crime victims and witnesses include: - Explaining the court process, Informing of charges filed, subpoenas, assistance in filing for victims compensation, and providing resources - Provision of information and services to victims of crime when the crime cannot be prosecuted - Services for victims of domestic violence if other services are not available or desired including assistance with applying for Orders for Protection/Harassment Orders - Accompaniment of victims and witnesses to court The agency encourages and welcomes interns who desire experience in criminal justice, human services or judicial degrees; volunteers trained as court escorts/case managers.
