Self-help center for individuals choosing to represent themselves in court:
- Helps self-represented litigants locate free or low cost legal services and programs, as well as mediation services
- Provides information about the court process, practice and procedure
- Provides instructions on how to complete court forms and review filled-out forms for completeness related to a variety of court proceedings, including civil actions, conciliation court matters, criminal expungement, family law (including child support, custody and divorce), landlord/tenant law, name changes and more. Staff are able to connect individuals with services that offer legal advice and guidance, however, they are not able to provide legal advice, strategy or research.

- 30 minute video on "How to Start a Divorce"
- Access to motion forms or dissolution forms which can be completed at home or at the center. All appropriate documentation must be included.
- Staff review of documents for neatness, completeness and consistency
- Staff assistance with scheduling court hearings, making copies and explaining service requirements
- Legal clinic open two times a week. Volunteer attorneys can provide answers to legal questions, offer procedural advice and help fill out court provided forms. They may also help explain a Court Order. They can provide assistance in the areas of divorce, child custody, child support, visitation, paternity issues and other family law matters.
- Child Support Motion Clinic, 9 am, first and third Friday of month for those who want to modify the child support order. Call for details.

This website offers help topics, find courts, pay fines, get forms, access case records and file a case. A person can print out forms and instructions that are available. This office will provide information on Winona County's filing fees but do not give legal advice.
