Youth Development Programs - Project for Pride in Living - PPL

Offers onsite youth development activities year-round. Direct services provided to youth and families include these core elements: - Literacy focus: literacy interventions are customized to meet the unique needs of each child. - Caring adult tutors: highly-trained, culturally-competent volunteers provide a consistent, 4-hour weekly dosage of programming throughout the year. - Social asset development: youth-driven service learning projects are designed to build competence, confidence, connections, and community. - Strong family engagement: parents are equipped with new skills that bolster their role in advancing their children's learning. - Youth voice: youth are empowered to set behavior expectations, work with their tutors to develop their own goals, and shape program offerings through evaluation. - 21st century skill-building: the program works to build digital literacy and integrates technology, such as laptops and e-readers, to enhance literacy.

Girls Inc. at YWCA Minneapolis - YWCA of Minneapolis

In partnership with Girls, Inc., YWCA offers a mentorship program delivered by trained professionals to help youth take risks, discover and grow their strengths, learn to value themselves, and create long-lasting mentorship in a pro-girl environment. Offers a research-based curriculum to help participants to: - Achieve academically - Discover an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) - Lead healthy and physically active lives - Make positive connections to peers and adults, contribute to society, and believe in their ability to create the best possible future for themselves - Manage money - Navigate media messages Programs Offered: - Girls Inc. Eureka Program: A five-year cohort for youth interested in STEM fields. Partners with the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota to guide participants to explore career interests and dreams while supporting them through high school graduation and preparing them for their next steps. - Girls RAP Program (Resolution and Prevention) Program: An intervention program that works with 12-18 years old girl-identifying youth using an empowerment framework. Community RAP works with youth who are involved or at-risk for involvement with the juvenile justice and adjacent systems. School-based RAP works with youth who may be experiencing challenges with or within the school environment. - Out-of-School Time Program: Available to girls and gender-expansive youth in grades 4-8 in the Minneapolis Public Schools and at YWCA Minneapolis. The program focuses on economic literacy, leadership, community engagement, and healthy decision making.

Bomber Club provides professional, quality before-and-after school care for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Offers full day care for school-age children on days when school is not in session and during the summer. Youth Leadership Programs - Neighborhood House

Celita Center: A drop-in center where youth can develop positive relationships with adults, find homework help, a positive social network, and support for whatever is happening in their lives. This program is often a bridge between young people in the communities Neighborhood House serves and more formal, structured programs. Health and Wellness: Program which combines sporting activities and discussion groups to help youth learn how to regulate emotions and promote positive social interactions. Kids Imagine: Combines daily enrichment and tutoring services to impact the lives of children and subsequently their families and community. With staff guidance, kids receive academic support and gain social and emotional learning. Partners with community advocates to allow opportunities for youth to gain experience with art, theatre, and sports. Youth Services - STARS Mentoring

Provides other youth services to help encourage positive choices, promote high self-esteem, and support academic achievement.
