Wellness and prevention programs for Ramsey county families. Referrals and coordination with other community-based services. Family Home Visiting: Dedicated to the well-being of pregnant women and families with young children, home visiting services help families raise healthy children who are ready to succeed in school and in life. Nurses offer information and support on a variety of topics and help individuals develop new parenting skills. There are a variety of home visiting programs available depending on the age of the child or parents. Individuals are encouraged to call to be assessed for the program that best fits their needs. Education and support topics may include: - Creating a safe home for the child - Finding healthcare, childcare, school/job options, and other resources in the community - Goal setting - Knowledge of growth and development - Preparation for birth - Promotion of the baby's health and well-being - Self-care during pregnancy Child and Teen Checkups Program: Checkups help children grow to their full potential. The C&TC program works with families and health professionals to make sure youth are getting their checkups. This program helps families: - Arrange transportation or an interpreter - Find a dental clinic - Find a medical clinic - Navigate health insurance and access benefits like gift cards and car seats - Schedule appointments - Understand what happens at a checkup like: lab tests, immunizations, lead screening, vision and hearing tests, dental referrals, development/behavior assessments, education on development stages, and more

Personal training sessions are available virtually via Zoom (included in membership or a monthly fee). Small Group Training Programs: - Provides opportunities for small group training and flex training. Available classes vary by location. Rates for members and non-members. - Wellness 180 provides a series of lessons that will help educate participants in and out of a classroom setting on how gradual lifestyle changes can positively impact their health. Rates for members and non-members. - Wellbeats is for kids ages 3 to 14 who are participants of Kids Stuff or child care (must be a member). Kids Stuff provides free drop-off child care while parents/caregivers workout (must be a member). Elder Care: Provides specific programs and services to support older adults age 55 and older, including in-person activities and free classes. - ForeverWell: Provides members with wellness activities for older adults age 55 and older including virtually online or in-person options. Must be a member for the virtual online activities. Also provides wellness checks for senior ForeverWell members. The George Wellbeing programs offer guidance, virtually or one-on-one in a group setting, with a board-certified coach, to help participants navigate healthy choices. Adult Sports Leagues: Provides team, doubles, and individuals sport activities. Opportunities for members and non-members. Kids Sports: Provides year-round activities and program for kids of all ages and skill levels, including youth sports leagues and classes, summer sports, Homeschool Physical Education, and adult sports leagues. Members and non-members are welcome to participate. Offers youth with disabilities age 8 and up opportunities to participate in the Blazing Stars Special Olympics Team. The Young Athletes program introduces children ages 2 to 7 with and without intellectual disabilities to the world of sports. Orthology: Provides physical therapy and chiropractic services Kids and Families: Provides exercises classes, adventure racing, free child care while members work out, Parents Night Out provides child care for an evening out, family friendly fitness centers, and youth and family fitness cards that outlines an entire workout from warm-ups to cool down stretches. Journey to Freedom: Provides an 8 week session where participants meet in small-group discussions, read, reflect, find support, and heal. The goal of the program is to build community and support successful life change in a safe place. Specialty series include Freedom from Body Image and Food Issues, Freedom from Low Self-Esteem, Freedom from the Pain of Grief and Disappointment, and Freedom from Fear. Condition Specific Programs: Include tailored health and fitness programs for people with health conditions including Parkinson's disease and pre-diabetes. Water Safety Program: Provides reduced cost water safety instruction for kids ages 5 - 14 and swimming lessons for ages 6 months to adult. Offers parent and child, school-age children, preschool children, and teen and adult swimming lessons and water safety instruction. Member and non-member rates available. Provides trainings and certifications for lifeguard training, CPR and first aid, babysitting safety, safety training for coaches and instructor level training. Classes are offered in a traditional classroom and blended where lessons are online and skills are practiced in class.

Listen to KGHS Radio Wednesday afternoons & Saturday mornings - Labor and Delivery class training is provided through the Rainy Lake Medical Center Hospital Campus - The Maternal and Child Health Special Project seeks to reduce infant mortality and disability and to improve the health of the mothers and babies. Home visits are made to pregnant women and mothers and infants by a skilled maternal and child health nurse. Education and support services to reduce maternal risk-taking behaviors and improve parenting skills are provided through individual counseling, group education, prepared childbirth classes, special classes for students on healthy lifestyles, and the distribution of printed materials and newsletters - Family Planning Services are available at Koochiching Family Planning Clinic
