Medical Cannabis Program - Minnesota Department of Health

Provides information on how to register and then receive medical cannabis in the state of Minnesota. In general, individuals need to work with a health care practitioner to become registered. Information about the process, including qualifying conditions, can be found online. - Step 1: The patient visits his/her health care practitioner. - Step 2: The patient's health care practitioner enrolls in the Medical Cannabis Registry and certifies that the patient has a qualifying medical condition. - Step 3: The patient gets an email with a link to the enrollment application. If the patient has a caregiver, the caregiver will need to complete an application and pass a background check. - Step 4: The patient (and caregiver, if applicable) will be notified by the Office of Medical Cannabis once the application is approved. - Step 5: The patient or caregiver will have to visit one of eight Cannabis Patient Center locations for distribution. The website contains a listing of dispensaries throughout Minnesota. Medical cannabis dispensaries are located throughout the state at the website: https://mn.gov/ocm/dmc/patients/the-basics/medical-cannabis-dispensary-locations.jsp
