Provides one-on-one employment assistance services such as:

• Assist with creating resume, cover letter, thank you notes, references, etc.

• Develop networking strategies

• Explore career paths and build skills

Hired supports individuals, families and youth through comprehensive employment services to learn new skills and achieve their academic and career goals. Programs are available throughout the Twin Cities, but not all programs are offered at every site.

• Adult Employment/WIOA Program: The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) serves individuals who are looking to improve their skills and advance their careers

• Career Training Program: Provides counseling, training, workshops, and job search assistance. Participants build skills and gain professional qualifications to find employment that is a right fit for them

• Family Stability/MFIP - Minnesota Family Investment Program: Assistance for parents who receive MFIP to help them build family-sustaining careers

• Youth Services: Provides coaching, support, and training to help youth and young adults complete a diploma or GED, explore careers, and gain employment in a field they are interested

• Vocational assessments: Evaluations are conducted to line with the person's interests and strengths. Assist individuals in identifying job goals and developing career paths. The evaluation helps an individual determine if the work in that particular field is a good fit.

Services include job counseling and career planning; job training and retraining, including basic computer skills, classroom training and on-the-job training

Offers employment services at no cost, including job and career training, as well as employment and placement opportunities for youth. These programs are for youth who have nowhere else to turn for help to find employment, complete their education, and who need support to move forward. Services include paid internships, tuition to train for a new career, help finishing school or getting a GED, help with job hunting, and transportation assistance (such as bus fare cards). Participants in Avivo's youth and young adult employment programs can also access short-term credentialed training options for higher-wage jobs, such as:

• Certified Nursing Assistance (CNA)

• Forklift Operator, including Forklift Operators Certification

• Culinary Arts and ServSafe certifications

• Enrollment opportunities in credentialed training at Avivo Institute of Career and Technical Education

Provides employment services for individuals interested in finding employment, obtaining certification training, or advancing their career. Services are provided in person at a CLUES location, virtually, or at one of the training partner locations. Services include:

• Career coaching

• Employment Preparation Assistance: Offers tailored resume building, cover letter crafting, job application assistance, interviewing skills enhancements, bilingual support, and in-person or virtual appointments

• Financial coaching

• Free career training workshops, 8 - 9 week training to learn soft skills along with hands-on training in high-demand industries

• Industry certification trainings for Steam and Hot Water Boiler Operator, Carpentry, Phlebotomy, Commercial Driver Careers, Healthcare Unit Coordinator, and Licensed Child Caregivers

• Job placement assistance

• Public assistance screening

• Transportation assistance

Career Pathways: Provides youth ages 14 - 24 who have faced systemic barriers to employment the opportunity to be introduced into the workforce by getting an internship at the YMCA. Beacons: Provides after-school and summer care for young people in grades K - 12 by partnering with Twin Cities area schools to provide quality educational, recreational, and leadership development activities and eliminate barriers to participation. Center for Youth Voice: Provides programs and services that help young people understand our system of government and how to effectively use their voice to take action on issues that matter to them. Teen Tech Center: Provides a technology-driven, interactive space for young people ages 12 - 24 to drop in, be creative, and develop new skills for free. Does not require a YMCA membership. Must be a member of the Teen Tech Center.

This program is geared towards youth at risk of not finishing school. The main focuses are to assist with completing high school, move on to post-secondary, and/or transition to work. It offers a summer job for 8 weeks with a paycheck and entry-level training in a variety of occupations. They offer counselors that can help mentor young students, identify problems, and encourage personal goals.

Prepares participants by providing the tools to develop hard and soft skills, reach career goals, and obtain proper certifications and licenses. Career training coaches are available to assist every step of the way by preparing participants for college-level classes, connecting them to employers, and helping to build professional skills and networks. Offers the following services:

• Class A Commercial Driver's License Program: Helps participants earn a CDL for free by providing a training coach. Provides an immersive and hands-on training program held at the Interstate Truck Driving School.

• Four Cornerstones of Financial Wellness: Provides classes that help participants increase financial management skills and learn to navigate financial systems. Classes include: budgeting to create savings, asset building and debt reduction, building a good credit report, and consumer protection and financial institutions.

• Healthcare Career Pathways: Helps participants build skills, reach career goals, and obtain proper certifications and licenses. Provides a training coach that prepares participants for college-level classes, connections to employers, and builds professional skills and networks. Courses offered include English for Industry, Nursing Assistant, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, and Nursing Assistant Refresher.

• Re-Entry Services: Provides adults recently paroled or released an opportunity to gain proper credentials in trainings such as Class A Commercial Driver's License. In addition to job training and career planning, participants will have access to transportation assistance and financial coaching.

• Welding and CNC Machining: Offers participants that have completed Manufacturing Foundations, the opportunity to pursue advanced manufacturing programs at Hennepin Technical College that includes 7 - 10 month certificates in Gas Metal Arc Welding or CNC Machining. Program also prepares participants an opportunity to continue their education and earn an associate's degree in a skilled trade.

• Career exploration and counseling services, including computerized career information and career and post-secondary counseling

• College preparation classes in critical thinking, math, reading, spelling, and writing

• Computer skills classes

• Employment-related skills workshops and local job market information

• English proficiency training across all skill levels (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
