NOURISH Food Shelf - Mount Olivet Lab School

Provides a weekly distribution of food, essential needs such as hygiene, cleaning products, diapers, and formula. Offers prepared meals for individuals and families. The Lab School offers community youth activities, youth internships, and volunteer opportunities.

Education Support Services - YMCA of the North

Career Pathways: Provides youth ages 14 - 24 who have faced systemic barriers to employment the opportunity to be introduced into the workforce by getting an internship at the YMCA. Beacons: Provides after-school and summer care for young people in grades K - 12 by partnering with Twin Cities area schools to provide quality educational, recreational, and leadership development activities and eliminate barriers to participation. Center for Youth Voice: Provides programs and services that help young people understand our system of government and how to effectively use their voice to take action on issues that matter to them. Teen Tech Center: Provides a technology-driven, interactive space for young people ages 12 - 24 to drop in, be creative, and develop new skills for free. Does not require a YMCA membership. Must be a member of the Teen Tech Center.

YouthBuild - Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) - Employment and Training

Community-based pre-apprenticeship program. Participants receive hands-on training in construction and carpentry skills while working toward their GED or high school diploma. Youth are offered CPR certification, OSHA certification, and NCCER training. Youth work on a myriad of projects ranging from demolition and renovation to new construction. Every participant is provided with workplace skills via paid work experience. Participants get experience in reading a tape measure, using handheld and power tools, estimating project needs, painting/staining, installing cabinets, sheetrock and mudding, demolition, installing banisters and stairs, concrete work, installing flooring, window installation, roofing, framing garden beds, and picnic tables. Construction projects focus on low-income housing and nonprofit organizations.

Emergency Medical Services Academy - Saint Paul Fire Department

The Saint Paul Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Academy is an intensive, tuition-free emergency medical technician (EMT) certification and firefighter awareness program. Individuals earn an hourly wage during the training, which lasts 240 hours over 10-14 weeks. Once completed, the EMS Academy, graduates earn National EMT certification, and job competency training.

Programs are available throughout the Twin Cities, but not all programs are offered at every site. - Adult Employment/WIOA Program: The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) serves individuals who are looking to improve their skills and advance their careers - Career Training Program: Provides counseling, training, workshops, and job search assistance. Participants build skills and gain professional qualifications to find employment that is a right fit for them - Dislocated Workers Program: Assistance with professional career guidance, training assistance, and job placement services to individuals who have lost their job through no fault of their own - Family Stability/MFIP - Minnesota Family Investment Program: Assistance for parents who receive MFIP to help them build family-sustaining careers - Youth Services: Provides coaching, support, and training to help youth and young adults complete a diploma or GED, explore careers, and gain employment in a field they are interested
