Beacons: Provides after-school and summer care for young people in grades K - 12 by partnering with Twin Cities area schools to provide quality educational, recreational, and leadership development activities and eliminate barriers to participation. Center for Youth Voice: Provides programs and services that help young people understand our system of government and how to effectively use their voice to take action on issues that matter to them. Teen Tech Center: Provides a technology-driven, interactive space for young people ages 12 - 24 to drop in, be creative, and develop new skills for free. Does not require a YMCA membership. Must be a member of the Teen Tech Center.

YouthBuild - Goodwill Easter Seals Minnesota

Helps people finish their High School Diploma or GED, offers hands-on training in construction or automotive, and assists people in finding jobs or starting college. Students receive one-on-one support in achieving their academic goals as well as leadership and career coaching. Enrolled students can earn money each week for attending classes, plus bonuses for achieving program goals.

Provides paid, hands-on employment training for youth and young adults, ages 14 - 28, in the seven-county Saint Paul/Minneapolis Twin Cities metro area. Programs range from entry-level to advanced. Community Support Program: Paid and unpaid employment training, job placement, and supportive services for parents receiving assistance through the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) Branches: Twelve-week program where young adults, ages 18 - 28 in the seven-county Metro area, gain hands-on paid career training in tree care and property maintenance, and earn industry credentials Summer Youth Employment Program: Paid employment training and educational enrichment programming during the summer months for low-income, special needs, and at-risk youth ages 14 - 21; serves youth in Dakota, Hennepin, and Washington counties and the City of Minneapolis through Step-up and the City of Saint Paul through Right Track Youth and Young Adult Services: Employment skills development, college preparation, and comprehensive case management for low-income, special needs, and at-risk students ages 16 - 21 residing in Suburban Hennepin County YouthBuild: Year-round paid employment training and educational enrichment programming for Hennepin County young adults ages 16 - 21 who are enrolled in a Tree Trust partner school

YouthBuild - Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) - Employment and Training

Community-based pre-apprenticeship program. Participants receive hands-on training in construction and carpentry skills while working toward their GED or high school diploma. Youth are offered CPR certification, OSHA certification, and NCCER training. Youth work on a myriad of projects ranging from demolition and renovation to new construction. Every participant is provided with workplace skills via paid work experience. Participants get experience in reading a tape measure, using handheld and power tools, estimating project needs, painting/staining, installing cabinets, sheetrock and mudding, demolition, installing banisters and stairs, concrete work, installing flooring, window installation, roofing, framing garden beds, and picnic tables. Construction projects focus on low-income housing and nonprofit organizations.

Avivo Institute of Career and Technical Education - Avivo

Career education training programs are short-term and industry-specific, designed to graduate students with industry-specific credentials and enter a career pathway that results in wage advancement. All students (aside from HVAC and Solar training) begin their career pathway in Workplace Essentials, a short training course designed to incorporate interpersonal, financial, and technical skill basics into one compact course that sets the pace for advanced learning. Industry-recognized credentials are incorporated into most of the Career Education Training Programs that include not only the preparation for the credential exam, but the exam itself. Articulation agreements are also incorporated into specific trainings, allowing individuals to have their classroom hours transfer into credits once enrolled in a partner MnSCU school. Job-seekers are encouraged to meet with an employment specialist who will assist in building an effective resume. Northstar Computer Training: builds basic skills needed to perform tasks on computers and online. Individuals who pass will be given a Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate. Culinary Arts Training: is a 10-week training program which teaches technical kitchen operating and management skills required to achieve the industry "ServSafe" credential.

Career Training Services - Emerge Community Development

Prepares participants by providing the tools to develop hard and soft skills, reach career goals and obtain proper certifications and licenses. Career training coaches are available to assist every step of the way by preparing participants for college-level classes, connecting them to employers and helping to build professional skills and networks. Offers the following services: - Career Essential Workshop: Provides a two-part MFIP/DWP workshop that offers basic resume writing, formatting tricks, basic resume etiquette, insight to job searching tools and practices, how to write a targeted cover letter, the importance of professional emails, and workshop schedule and expectations. - Class A Commerical Driver's License Program: Helps participants earn a CDL for free by providing a training coach. Provides an immersive and hands-on training program held at the Interstate Truck Driving School. - Four Cornerstones of Financial Wellness: Provides classes that help participants increase financial management skills and learn to navigate financial systems. Classes include: budgeting to create savings, asset building and debt reduction, building a good credit report, and consumer protection and financial institutions. - Healthcare Career Pathways: Helps participants build skills, reach career goals, and obtain proper certifications and licenses. Provides a training coach that prepares participants for college-level classes, connections to employers, and builds professional skills and networks. Courses offered include English for Industry, Nursing Assistant, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, and Nursing Assistant Refresher. - Re-Entry Services: Provides adults recently paroled or released an opportunity to gain proper credentials in trainings such as Class A Commercial Driver's License. In addition to job training and career planning, participants will have access to transportation assistance and financial coaching. - Welding and CNC Machining: Offers participants that have completed Manufacturing Foundations, the opportunity to pursue advanced manufacturing programs at Hennepin Technical College that includes 7 - 10 month certificates in Gas Metal Arc Welding or CNC Machining. Program also prepares participants an opportunity to continue their education and earn an associate's degree in a skilled trade.
