The Houston Nature Center offers exhibits and programs focused on the natural environment. The center offers hands-on nature exhibits, special nature-themed children's program, and special programming during the summer on Saturday evenings.
The Center also includes the eastern trail head for the Root River State Trail/Harmony-Preston Trail Systems. A band shell for summer music in the park, picnic facilities, primitive campsites with showers, birding trails, observations platforms for wetland birds, and a natural playground complete with a tree house and zip line, are also part of the Nature Centers lands.
