Wildlife Management and Recreation Opportunities - Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge - Winona District

The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge provides 240,00 acres of wetlands, forest, river, and prairie lands for the public to explore. There are opportunities for environmental education, hunting, fishing, canoe and bike trails, and wildlife viewing. The visitor center is available providing interactive exhibits and a movie about the seasonal sights and sounds on the refuge as well as public restroom.

Hunting and Fishing Opportunties - Camp Ripley

Managed by the Minnesota National Guard, opens up opportunities for archery deer, turkey, and fishing seasons for both active/retired military members and civilians. Participants must register via iSportsman, obtain installation permits, and comply with state licensing and regulations. Special programs include Disabled Veterans hunts, which provide lodging, meals, and assistance to ensure accessibility.
