Programs and In-Home Assistance - Hamline-Midway Elders, A Living at Home Block Nurse Program

Provides or arranges support for elder neighbors to assist them in living at home as long as possible. This support, which may otherwise not be available, uses the program's small staff, volunteers and/or paid nursing staff. Services include: - Caregiver coaching and support groups - Community Gardening - Door-to-door transportation, both assisted and non-assisted, provided by volunteers. There is no charge, but donations are accepted. Technology Assistance Program - Elder Network - Southeast Minnesota

Provides access to iPads and mobile hotspots for clients in need of assistance with technology access and education. Volunteers are matched with clients to provide weekly or semi-monthly support, direction and education on how to access applications on iPads to enable them to complete tasks of daily living such as grocery shopping, emailing a landlord, accessing a medical portal, engaging in telehealth visits, joining an online support group, etc. Volunteers dedicate 1 - 2 hours with clients to educate them on technology, and staff offer support as well.
