Provides the following support groups: ?- BIPOC Connection Support Groups: NAMI offers free support group for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) adults living with mental illness. Groups meet regularly to support attendees, build awareness and understanding, and to connect with others in the community who face similar challenges. Groups and facilitators offer privacy and confidentiality. Click here for a full list of support groups. - Dual Diagnosis Support Groups: NAMI Minnesota's dual diagnosis support groups are for adults living with both a mental illness and a substance use disorder or addiction. Groups are free and meet weekly for 90 minutes. Participants can find support, learn skills to deal with substance abuse, and connect with others who face similar challenges. More groups may be added, please check regularly. Click here for a full list of support groups. - LGBTQ Connection Support Groups: NAMI offers free support groups for adults in the LGBTQ+ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual) living with mental illness. Groups meet weekly to support attendees, build awareness and understanding, and to connect with others in the LGBTQ+ community who face similar challenges. Groups and facilitators offer privacy and confidentiality. Click here for a full list of support groups. - Mindfulness Creations: For individuals with mental illness and want to engage in art - NAMI Connection: NAMI Connection is a support group for adults living with mental illness. Groups are free and meet for 90 minutes. All groups are led by trained facilitators who also live with mental illness. Groups provide a welcoming, safe, judgment-free space to share challenges, successes, and learn from one another. Click here for a full list of support groups. - NAMI Open Door Anxiety and Panic Support Groups: NAMI Minnesota's Open Door support groups provide ongoing support for individuals with an anxiety or panic disorder. Groups are free and meet for 90 minutes. Groups are a place to find support, learn new skills and strategies, and better understand and manage anxiety in daily life. The Open Door program is based on the book Embracing the Fear: Learning to Manage Anxiety and Panic Attacks by Judith Bemis and Amr Barrada. All groups are facilitated by people with lived experience with anxiety and panic attacks.
