Caregiver Support: Caregiver counselors available to provide support for caregivers to continue caring for a loved one and care for themselves. Counselors assist with making decisions and problem-solving related to caregiving. This includes individual or family counseling, support groups, and caregiver training and education. Services including: - Assessing assistance and referrals - Assisting with the coordination and planning for supportive services - Decision making by providing support and expertise - Developing an informal caregiver support network - Developing individualized plans for caregiving - Exploring personal lifestyle and the impact of caregiving on health status, relationships, and finances - Identifying your needs and preferences - Problem-solving - Self-advocacy Resources for Enhancing Alzheimer's Caregiver Health (REACH) - service focused on those who care for someone with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. REACH is delivered over a two- to three-month time period, including four core consulting sessions with the caregiver, either face to face or by telephone. Support group for people with a dementia diagnosis and care partners, friends/family 2nd Tuesday of each month Hope United Methodist Church 301 West St Marie Street, Duluth, MN 1:30 pm - 3 pm Training for businesses and caregivers: Dementia Friendly at Work training includes information about dementia and related diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, how to communicate with customers and caregivers, and how to create a friendly physical space within the business. Works with organization to identify and implement changes needed to better assist their customers and their loved ones. Evidence-based programs helps promote self-management and understanding those with chronic health conditions (such as diabetes and chronic pain), fall prevention, and encourage improving the overall state of well-being through education, fitness instruction, and resources. Each group meets monthly and transportation assistance is available. Peer-to-Peer Mentor Network matches individuals struggling emotionally with a mentor who has also walked that journey.

Resources for education, information, support, and advocacy may include the following: - Adult peer groups throughout the state - Age-appropriate education programs for youth about epilepsy, seizure first aid, and prevention - Camp Oz: A week-long, residential camp for youth 9 - 17 who have epilepsy. Held the third week in June each summer. - Creative Arts encourages people with epilepsy to submit artwork and writings - Epilepsy first aid and awareness training for professionals and for the public including seizure recognition - Family events - Shining Stars: Kids with epilepsy are recognized with certificates and a medallion, special events and a chance to meet other Shining Stars. Brochures, pamphlets and resource materials. Some available in Spanish and Hmong.

Offers free and confidential testing for HIV. Individuals are invited to pick a time and place to be tested. Results are usually available in 20 minutes and staff will provide pre- and post-counseling in English and some African languages. Confidential support group for Africans living with HIV and AIDS. Persons of all faiths are welcome. The meetings are culturally and linguistically appropriate. Meetings include a fellowship and spiritual period, a shared meal, and an emotional support and health wellness section.

- Blood Pressure Clinic: Is co-sponsored by the Delano and Knights of Columbus, the Blood Pressure Clinic is available weekly in the Senior Center. Blood pressure screening is open to seniors and non-seniors. - Easy does it Exercise: Provides an exercise routine that helps tone muscles, limber joints, and increase circulation. Anyone is welcome to join this group. - Eyeglass Adjustments: Provided by the Delano Eye Clinic. Provides adjustments with glasses including glasses adjusted, screws tightened or nose pads replaced. This is a free service. - Foot Care: Provided by Excel Foot Care, make an appointment with licensed foot care personnel to have foot care needs met. Provides a foot soak, lotion rub, toenail trim, debridement of corns, calluses, assessment and monitoring of circulation, disorders, etc. - Parkinson's Support Group: For individuals and/or family members challenged with Parkinson's disease. Educational materials of various books and articles will be discussed.
