Early Childhood Family Education - ECFE - Mankato Area Public School District 77

ECFE is a parenting education program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages birth - Kindergarten. Learning opportunities through ECFE may occur in a variety of settings, such as the families' homes, district or community sites, and online parenting education and support. Baby & Me Program - Pregnancy Choices

An 8-session program designed for expecting or experienced mothers eager to grow in their parenting and personal relationships. Participants work one-on-one with a Certified Life Coach, and are provided parenting education, confidence boosting, stress reduction, and healthy coping skills. Offers two monthly groups: Moms Group and Latina Moms Group. Moms Group is an opportunity to build community with other moms. Latina Mom's Group is an opportunity to build community with other Spanish-speaking moms. Topics for both groups vary based on client interests and needs.

Support Group - Embrace Grace

- Provides support groups at local churches for single pregnant mothers and single moms in a judgement-free community of women who offer encouragement and support - Embrace Grace Support Group: Single pregnant mothers program meets weekly for 11 weeks. Free baby shower provided as part of the program. - Embrace Life Support Group: Single mothers program meets weekly for 11 weeks - Embrace Legacy Support Group: Single fathers program meets weekly for 12 weeks at certain locations. Domestic Abuse Program - Lee Carlson Center for Mental Health and Well-Being

- Group and individual therapy: Are provided for domestic abuse issues. Groups for abusive men and abused women, and play therapy for children who have been abused or have witnessed the abuse. Also offers anger management groups for women. Anger management groups and therapy groups for children and adolescents are available. Parenting groups for parents of children exposed to domestic violence are also available. After completion of the domestic abuse program, restorative parenting groups are offered to men and women to address the needs of children affected by domestic violence. After completion of the domestic abuse program, family therapy and couples therapy may be available for those who wish to work on their relationships. - Sexual Assault Program: Group therapy and individual therapy available to women who have been sexually assaulted or sexually abused at any time in their lives - Restorative Parenting Program: 12-week group therapy program for women whose children have been exposed to domestic violence, and a 10-week group therapy program is available for fathers who have exposed their children to violence in the home. Family therapy is available and recommended in conjunction with the group therapy program. Group therapy for children and adolescents exposed to violence is also available if there are sufficient numbers of age appropriate youth.

35 Day Evaluation Program - North Homes Children and Family Services

The North Homes Cottage offers a comprehensive 35 Day Evaluation to provide referral sources, children, and their families' appropriate recommendations to meet the client's needs. The Assessment Unit is staffed with trained youth counselors and Mental Health Practitioners who interact daily with clients and provide behavioral observations. The client will remain in the Assessment Unit for 35 days and participate in educational programming through independent School District 318, recreational, leisure, cultural, and spiritual activities, therapeutic groups, art therapy, medication education, eligibility for becoming a positive peer, visitation with family, etc. - 24-hour behavior observation and documentation by trained staff, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers. A comprehensive assessment, which identifies child and family issues, and historical information is conducted. The assessment team then recommends ongoing services that will best meet the present and future needs of the child and their family. The North Homes Cottage Assessment Program consists of components including: - Behavioral Assessments - Psychiatric Evaluation - Culture Assessment - Recreational Assessment - Academic Assessment - Family Assessment - Family History - Health Screening/Physical Examination - Substance Use Assessments The evaluations will be completed in 35 days, after which an assessment staffing will be held with members of the Treatment Team to discuss findings and recommendations. Stronger Together Grief Support Groups - Bellis

Provides a peer-based support group, facilitated by licensed professionals, for mothers whose legal parental rights were terminated (or transferred) by the court. The group discussion focuses on the phase of life following the termination of parental rights, specifically on the grief and loss needs of the mother. This is an opportunity for mothers to share their stories without judgment to discuss grief, loss, and what it means to walk through life as a mother who isn't parenting with others who understand. Groups are available in person at the Minneapolis location and online. Limited transportation assistance is available in the Twin Cities upon request for in-person group meetings.
