Friendly Visiting and Chore Services - CREST - Caregiver Response Effort and Service Team

Non-professional services provided: - Errand running and shopping assistance - Friendly visiting - Light housekeeping - Meal preparation - Mail management and personal correspondence - Repairs and minor maintenance of home and yard, including snow removal. There is insurance coverage for volunteers during the times they are providing CREST services.?? - Telephone reassurance - Transportation is available for appointments, church, social engagements, and shopping. Request for transportation must be done 2 days in advance and are not wheelchair accessible. Both curb-to-curb and door-to-door service is available depending on need. No fees and donations are accepted. - Volunteers do not give medications, do not assist in transferring sitting to bed, etc.

This time can include practicing English, taking them to the grocery store, or just chatting about life in the U.S. Commitment to the family is three months. Preferred group of 2-3 people, with friends, family or co-workers - Grocery shopping groups: Assists in purchasing basic food items to be available the day or night refugee families arrive into the U.S - Special projects: Engages volunteers in special projects to benefit the program which uses their skills and talents. Contact CCRRP with ideas for special projects. Background check, training and volunteer orientation required for some volunteering opportunities.

Assisted living for adults ages 62 and older who no longer want to live on their own but aren't in need of 24 hours/7 days a week skilled nursing care.
