North Country RIDE is a volunteer-based organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding for people ages 5 - 78 with diagnosed physical, cognitive, emotional or behavioral disabilities. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Clients who have previously participated have had a variety of special needs, including those with:
- ADD and ADHD
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Blindness
- Cerebral palsy
- Depression
- Developmental disabilities
- Down syndrome
- Epilepsy
- Fetal alcohol syndrome
- Language delays
- Partial paralysis
- Schizophrenia
- Sensory Integration dysfunction
- Traumatic brain injury
