Advocacy for Victims of Crime - Someplace Safe - Regional Offices
Provides advocacy services for victims of domestic violence, human/labor trafficking, and sexual assault, or victims of a general crime such as elder abuse, identity theft, robbery, stalking, or theft. Services provided include:
- Assistance at the hospital or law enforcement center
- Crisis response and intervention
- Legal advocacy and/or criminal justice system intervention, such as assistance with filing protective orders
- Occasional transportation services
- Safety planning and short-term emergency placement services
- Specialized information and referral for locating resources and obtaining vouchers for household items
- Support groups for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault

Safe Harbor - South Central Regional Navigator - Lutheran Social Service - Mankato
Provides 24/7 support and connection for youth and young adults who have been exploited, trafficked, or are at risk. Connects participants to safe housing, mental health services, employment or education support, necessities, caring adults, legal services, advocacy, health care, and other community resources. In addition to direct support, Regional Navigators assist with community education, inter-agency coordination, and anti-trafficking efforts across Minnesota.

- Legal advocacy including obtaining a Harassment Restraining Order (HRO) or Order for Protection (OFP)

- A specially trained and experienced call specialist will speak with the client about his or her needs, options, and resources available to help.
- Correspondence with the NHTRC is confidential, and one may request assistance or report a tip anonymously.
- Helps individuals access direct services through an extensive referral network and facilitates reporting of potential human trafficking tips to specialized law enforcement agencies.
