Crisis intervention for problems including but not limited to mental health and behavioral health problems, chemical use issues, suicide, child abuse, sexual assault, battering and family reaction to trauma sudden death. Services include crisis counseling, information, referral and assistance with hospitalization in psychiatric emergency situations. Services are provided to patients in the emergency center at Regions Hospital.
Level IV trauma emergency room treating a range of medical conditions: - Abdominal pains - Breathing difficulties - Broken bones - Carbon monoxide exposure - Confusion/inabilty to speak - Dizziness - Head/brain injuries - High fever - Loss of consciousness - Major burns - Mental health, substance use crisis and suicidal behaviors - Partial or full paralysis - Poisoning - Seizures - Severe bleeding or deep cuts - Severe eye injuries or blindness - Severe pain/chest pain/cardiovascular/heart emergencies - Stroke/neurological emergencies Adult Mental Health Hospital Care: For adults ages 18 and older who need 24 hour hospital care. Criteria for admission to the unit are for the patient to be a danger to self or others. This treatment program is for patients who have a major mental illness and require professional assistance to learn how to cope with significant problems they are experiencing in day-to-day living. Patients receive care in the secured hospital unit while learning how to manage their illness. Professionals from a variety of health care disciplines including psychiatrists, hospitalists, registered nurses, social workers, program specialists and leisure skills facilitators assist patients with treatment and recovery. Sexual Assault/Rape Victim Nurse Examiner: When a victim comes to the emergency department, a sexual assault nurse examiner can evaluate him or her for health risks and provide treatment. Provides crisis intervention, assessment, and treatment of psychiatric emergencies primarily directed towards the adult population ages 18 and older. Under urgent circumstances, adolescents ages 13 and over will be evaluated. Also provides referrals to primary psychiatric care, chemical dependency treatment, and crisis residence.

Provides emergency mental health and substance abuse services for adults designed to improve patient outcomes. In the emergency department, patients receive a quick medical screening exam. Once evaluated, patients are invited to a more intimate environment staffed with mental health experts for an approach to care that is comfortable, soothing, and healing with access to psychiatry providers, therapists, mental health nurses and specialists to help stabilize patients often eliminating the need for inpatient admission. Patients typically spend 12 to 48 hours in the EmPATH service. As patients prepare to leave, they are equipped with a care plan, next steps, connections to follow-up resources and programs, and a safety plan for the next time a triggering event occurs.

- Accredited Chest Pain Center: Anyone who has heart attack symptoms is encouraged to come for evaluation - ER Express: Available for minor illnesses and injuries including earaches; minor burns; minor lacerations; minor sports injuries and strains; sore throats; upper respiratory symptoms, for example, caused by bronchitis and pneumonia; urinary tract infections - Level II trauma center - Mental health and substance abuse assessment and referral - Mental Health and Addiction Connection: Resource for scheduling, referrals, questions and concerns

- Emergency heart care by a team of specialists - Intensive Care Unit - Level IV trauma hospital - Medical and nuclear medicine imaging - Mental health and substance abuse assessment and referral - Mental Health and Addiction Connection: Resource for scheduling, referrals, questions and concerns - Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner: When a victim comes to the emergency department within 120 hours (5 days) after the assault, a sexual assault nurse examiner can evaluate him or her for health risks and provide treatment. The nurse also collects evidence of the assault to be used if the victim chooses to report the crime. Crisis information and referrals to support services as well as medical follow-up are also provided.

Provides an Emergency Psychiatric Assessment, Treatment, and Healing Unit (EmPATH Unit) and behavioral health services to people of all ages experiencing problems with addiction or other mental health issues. Services include: - A care model providing the EmPATH Unit to treat patients with emergency mental health needs. The unit transitions patients from the emergency department into a welcoming and calm setting to provide assessment, initial treatment, and begin the healing process. A treatment plan is developed prior to transitioning to the next level of recommended care. - Addressing a wide variety of challenges such as abuse/neglect, addictions, ADHD, adjustment problems, anxiety, autism, behavior problems, chronic medical conditions, co-dependency, depression, divorce issues, eating disorders, family changes, family dysfunction, grief/loss issues, learning disorders, parenting issues, personality disorders, PTSD, recovery/relapse issues, relationship issues, school problems, and women's issues. - Comprehensive inpatient services for complete psychiatric care and treatment plan. - Outpatient services such as individual, couples, and family therapy. - Psychological testing for diagnosis and personalized treatment planning. - Treatment may include educational programs on wellness and relationships, group therapy, leisure and recreational therapy, comprehensive evaluation, medications, and psychiatric psychotherapy. - Video visits are optional
