Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center offers outpatient substance use disorder assessment and treatment services. Services include: General assessments for substance use disorders (self-referrals and court-ordered), Individual and group counseling for alcohol and/or drug use disorders, Family counseling and education, Education and information regarding substance use disorders for the general public, Relapse prevention and aftercare services, and Care coordination for clients (referrals for mental health services, Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Program, psychiatric services, or other needed community services).

Substance Use Disorder Counseling
Provides chemical abuse and dependency treatment. Program offers: - A first-half Primary program that runs for 18 sessions, 4 days a week=54 hours and takes approximately 5 weeks to complete - Second half program Aftercare/Continuing Care which runs for 8 sessions, once a week=16 hours - Individuals who have completed a Primary treatment program at another facility are able to enroll in just the Aftercare portion - A Relapse program is also available, and runs for 10 sessions, 2 days a week=30 hours. This program is also followed by the above-mentioned Aftercare/Continuing Care program. The programs can be customized to some extent, to fit most scheduling needs of clients. - Chemical use evaluations are also available

A program for seniors age 50 and over needing outpatient chemical dependency treatment. A combination of recovery programs and outpatient treatment services as well as aftercare. Service includes: - Education and consultation - Free transportation to and from SRC services within a 15 mile radius - Individual and group counseling - Leisure time activities - Outpatient chemical dependency treatment for seniors - Referrals - Support groups: AA & Al-anon, aftercare, crafts, Health and Wellness group, relapse group - Will do assessments for all ages

Focuses on helping people struggling with substance use and/or mental health concerns achieve their individual recovery goals. This may include decreasing their substance use and the negative consequences related to their use, or it may include a desire to achieve abstinence from substance use. Services include: - Day and evening group options available - Evidence-based treatment approaches - In-person and telehealth group options - Medication support for withdrawal from opioids, stimulants and alcohol - Naloxone Access Point - Prescriber for mental health and substance use disorder medications - Peer support, individual and group availability - Private substance abuse assessments - Relapse prevention/short-term intervention - Rule 31 substance abuse outpatient program: Specializes in treating co-occurring disorders (substance abuse and mental health). Provides "emotion based" interventions and teaches life skills. Examples of therapies used include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brain Spotting, Individual Therapy, and Group Therapy.
