Veterans organization that provides funeral services, presenting flags, financial assistance to injured veterans, hospitalized veterans.

The Family Support Network connects families of service members who are activated, deployed or away from home on extended orders, with posts in their local communities where they can get assistance with everything from lawn mowing and home repairs to child care or financial help.

A service to help women improve their own and the lives of people in the communities around them, fostering personal growth, and develop friendships.

- Offers opportunities for involvement in direct service initiatives that promote equity in the community. - Trains volunteer advocates to speak out about social justice issues that impact women, children and families. - Provides opportunities for leadership development in service, advocacy and nonprofit governance.

Veterans Home, funerals, color guard, parades and financial and social assistance to veterans. Transportation of veterans to VA hospitals.

- Military Veterans Organization Post home for veterans of: - WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon/Grenada, Panama, Gulf War/War on Terrorism - Active in the support of youth basesball, high school oratorical competition, Boy's State, Scouting, Scholarship programs, school patrols, etc.

Minnesota Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center collects eyeglasses and transports them to a Wisconsin eyeglass center to be processed and distributed to those in need. Lions clubs can be located throughout Minnesota.

- This is a young people's leadership training organization. - Meets the first Monday of each month at the Lakes Inn at 6:30 pm Sponsor the following events: - Home, Sport and Travel Show - Pony League Football - Corn Palace at County Fair - Punt, Pass, Kick - Holiday Program - Patriotic Flag Project - Curtain and Pole rental

- Volunteers serve from a few hours up to 20 hours per week - Pre-service orientation - On-the-job training from agency or organization where placed - While on duty, supplemental insurance is provided

Community Service Projects

The American Legion Temporary Financial Assistance program awards cash grants to minor children of veterans who are eligible for American Legion membership. These grants help families in need meet the cost of shelter, food, utilities and help expenses, thereby keeping the child or children in a more stable environment.
