Cultivates a collaborative community that supports, values, and empowers youth by: - Advancing collaboration, alignment, and shared outcomes among organizations serving youth and families - Convening and coordinating community partners that provide afterschool and summer enrichment programs for youth - Supporting youth leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement initiatives, including the Youth on Boards program - Strengthening access to academic support, mentoring, and enrichment services through partnerships with schools and community-based programs - Serving as a connector and clearinghouse for local youth development efforts and resources

Works to prevent and reduce youth substance use in the community through advocacy, awareness, and partnerships by: - Making recommendations for community interventions and policies to reduce youth substance use - Partnering with schools, families, and service providers to build local prevention capacity - Raising community awareness about youth alcohol and drug use and related risks - Sharing information and resources related to substance use prevention and local supports - Supporting and encouraging community education and parent engagement around substance use prevention

Serves as the principal agency of the state to advocate on behalf of Minnesotans who are deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing by working to ensure those persons have equal access to the services, programs, and opportunities available to others. The Commission addresses barriers to communication access through public policy and legislation. Advises the governor, the legislature, the judicial branch, and the commissioners of all state agencies to ensure their policies and practices are equitable to Minnesotans who are deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing. Note: Does not provide direct services

Promotes community involvement and philanthropic giving among women in the community of Otter Tail and Wadena County. Women United is involved with programs that promote early literacy including the Imagination Library, Buddy Book Bins, and Prescription Reading.
