- Compost/Brush Site: Provides a dumpster location at 250 State Avenue North for grass, leaves, and soft garden waste. The dumpster is not for brush. A second site that the city contracts with the City of Mayer for use of the Carver County Environmental site is located on County Road 30 east of the Mayer Wastewater Facility. The site is open 8 am - 12 noon Saturday year-round and 5 pm - 7 pm Wednesday from spring through fall. Items accepted at the second site are brushes, automotive batteries, clothing, plastic bags, shrink wrap, paper, food and beverage containers, scrap metal, used motor oil, oil filters, and antifreeze.
- Fire Department: Provide fire prevention, protection, and rescue services to the city of New Germany, as well as the surrounding townships of Camden and Hollywood
- Garbage service is billed monthly along with the city utility bill
- Public Works: Maintenance of the city's open spaces, streets, sidewalks, snow plowing, street signage, and other duties
