Group Cares Camp - West Central Minnesota Communities Action

Campers will do jobs that are basic home repairs. Projects may include: - Caulking around windows/doors - Minor fascia/soffit repair or painting - Minor fascia/soffit repair or painting - New mobile home skirting/skirting repair - New steps only - New stoop and step construction - New wheelchair ramp construction - Weatherstripping around windows/doors Applicants must be on a fixed or low income and be within a 30-mile radius of the designated project site. Client needs, amount of work, and skills of campers are considered. It can be in town or rural. Someone must be at home while work is being done. Bathroom, electricity for tools, and drinking water must be provided. Labor & materials are free. Campers will provide their own transportation and will be supervised by the adults and group cares camp staff.

Habitat ReStore - Habitat For Humanity Serving Winona County

The Habitat ReStore sells gently used and new building materials, tools, and furniture at a discount to the community. Inventory is donated by community businesses and individuals. Proceeds support local Habitat for Humanity repair and construction projects. Items accepted include cabinets, furniture, doors, hardware, kitchen and bath fixtures, light fixtures, lumber, flooring, and more. Donation pick-up is available by appointment and donations can be brought to the drive-thru during business hours. Volunteer opportunities are available.

Habitat Restore - Habitat for Humanity - South Central Minnesota

- Sells new and gently used home improvement items to the public for 25-50% off regular retail value - All proceeds from the ReStore go to Habitat for Humanity of South Central MN (HFHSCMN) to help provide affordable housing in the community - As supply depends on donations, inventory cannot be predicted; shoppers are encouraged to visit to see what is in stock - To donate large items, arrangements can be made to pick-up items at homes or businesses

Accepts donations of and sells new and used: - Appliances: Clean and working - Art: Framed and excellent condition - Bath Tubs: Modern - Bed Frames: No waterbed frames - Cabinets: No water damage - Cabinet doors and hardware - Cast Iron Tubs: Clawfoot - Ceiling fans - Decorative items - Dishes: No chips or cracks - Doors: Hollow core new and in-frame; solid core in excellent condition - Door Hardware: Doorknobs and hinges - Exterior Finish and Siding: New in box - Floor Coverings: New carpet, tile, vinyl, etc. - Furniture: Excellent condition, no stains - HVAC and related items - Light bulbs: LED - Lighting: Usable working condition - Lumber: No screws or nails - Mirrors: Framed - Paint: Full can, no rust, 5 years or newer - Plumbing: Parts and fixtures - Shower Surround: New - Sinks: No stains or cracking - Small Hardware: Bolts, nails, screws, etc. - Toilets: Marked 1.6 gallon or less - Tools: Working condition with safety pieces - Trim: No nails or screws - Window Sash: Vintage with wood frame - Windows: 5 years and newer All proceeds go towards Habitat for Humanity's work.
