Parents can earn Baby Bucks after attending each lesson offered through BrightCourse, which can be redeemed in the Baby Boutique. Operates social enterprise businesses that support primarily men exiting incarceration who need to build employability skills before entering the mainstream workforce. Second Chance Recycling: Specializes in recycling mattresses and batteries and sole manufacturer and distributor of Salvatore Ovens. Employs those facing barriers to employment as trainees for 6 - 12 months as a way to help participants build healthy work habits and a work history. Accepts mattresses and box springs for a fee and can pick up curbside for a fee. Quantities of 25 or more, call to make arrangements. Mattresses with bed bugs are not accepted. Batteries from the general public are not accepted. Custom Manufacturing: Contracts with area businesses to provide trainee jobs in high demand fields of manufacturing, welding, and machining. Furnish Office and Home: Nonprofit store primarily selling used and new office and home furnishings for up to 80% off list prices. Items vary based on donations. Paid job training program allowing trainees experience working on sales and warehouse skills, conflict resolution, maintaining a positive attitude and gaining solid work history based on dependability and personal responsibility. Accepts donations of office furniture, equipment and supplies; a pick up fee may be charged. Accepts donations of household furniture in good, resalable condition and less than 10 years old including tables, chairs, sofas, dressers, night stands, lamps, bookcases, artwork, appliances, electronics and tools.

Family Store - Donation Center - Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center - ARC

Thrift stores located throughout the metro area. Accepts donations of new and used items that are clean and in good condition. NOTE: Thrift stores do not have cribs, strollers, car seats, entertainment centers, desks or anything with a mattress (including futons, sleeper sofas, etc.) available or accept donations of same. Will pick up furniture for cost if the caller lives in the pick-up area which is 30-40 miles around the metro area and includes about 100 cities. Furniture must not be damaged. To be eligible for furniture pick-up, donations must also include a minimum of three bags of new or used clothing and household items.

Food Shelf - ACBC Food Shelf and Thrift Store

- Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP): Provides low-income adults ages 60 and older with additional food and nutrition education. Items are selected by participants each month. - Food Shelf Market: Can be utilized once each month. Individuals receive a 7-to-10-day supply of food including fresh produce, meat, dairy, eggs, bread, shelf-stable, pet food, hygiene, and more. Choices can not be guaranteed due to limited quantity of items. - Outreach Grocery Delivery: Provides homebound individuals with food such as non-perishables, meat, dairy, produce, bakery, hygiene, and pet items. Volunteers take orders and deliver food once per month. - Summer Food for Kids: During the regular food shopping appointment, households with school-age children have the option to choose additional 'kid-friendly' food - Weekly Program: Additional food services available for those who are experiencing homelessness. Other special events such as produce distributions and additional shopping opportunities on select Fridays. - Personal care items and food donations are accepted

The food shelf offers fresh produce, dairy products, eggs, meat, grains, shelf stable protein, cooking and baking ingredients, baby food, and more. - Donations accepted such as fresh and frozen food items, diapers, and money - Families with young children can access diapers ranging from size newborn - 6 years and diaper wipes every week - Home delivery may be available to community members with limited mobility or special circumstances - Items provided may also include feminine hygiene products, household products, toiletries, detergent, and soap. Items are dependent upon donations. - Staff can assist with applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and refer to other resources

Provides free residential donation pick-ups of clothing, linens, and small household goods from residents of the metro area, but will not pick-up from apartments, condos, or businesses. Will not pick up furniture. Schedule for pickup varies; most Twin Cities neighborhoods are visited every 6 to 9 weeks. DAV of Minnesota is no longer directly involved in a vehicle donation program.
