Providing emergency financial assistance grants to eligible union members. These are once in a lifetime grants, and the amount of funding allowed individuals is subject to change based on needs and/or the availability of funding.

AFL-CIO Community Services liaisons: - Advocate for working family issues, including affordable health care, improved transit, and an economy that works for all - Coordinate strike and layoff training for unions - Mobilize union members and community and religious organizations in support of workers' struggles for justice - Provide information and referral services for a variety of resources, including health care, food, and financial assistance and foreclosure prevention
Encourage and train union members and other interested persons for active participation in community life. Courses offered: - Layoff preparation - Basic and advanced counselor training
