Housing Support - Douglas County Health and Human Services
Pays for room and board for seniors and adults with disabilities who have low incomes. Aims to reduce and prevent people from living in institutions or becoming homeless.
All recipients receive assistance each month to help pay for rent and food. Some recipients also receive Housing Support supplemental funding to provide other services if they don't qualify for home and community-based waiver programs, including but not limited to:
- Arranging for medical and social services
- Arranging for meetings and appointments
- Assistance with transportation
- Medication reminders
The individual's housing provider receives payments to pay for rent, utilities, food, household supplies, and other necessities.

- Residents receive case management support, personal care services, independent living skills training and assistance with cooking and cleaning on a 24 hour basis.
- Each resident has a large, private bedroom and access to spacious common areas. Call system to alert professional of resident's needs.

Free, two-year telephone support program provides education and connection to supports and services to assist people throughout Minnesota in navigating life after brain injury. Participants receive scheduled calls over two years to help problem-solve issues and identify resources to help them transition back to family life, work, school, and the community while achieving the greatest level of independence possible. Referrals also provided to a statewide network of support groups for persons with brain injury, their families and friends.
