Works with the national office to provide the following services: - Accredits and finances 113 CF care centers nationwide which provide high-quality, specialized care for those with CF; these centers provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment as well as professional medical education and training - Advocates increased funding from government sources and encourages the development and federal approval of drugs to treat CF - Created the innovative Therapeutics Development Program which provides matching funds to biotechnology companies to stimulate the development of new therapeutics for people with CF - Funding network of 10 CF research centers at leading universities and medical schools throughout the United States - Maintains a website at www.cff.org which provides information on a variety of subjects relating to CF, including updates of CF research, public policy issues, ways to get involved, and general information - Provides a variety of grants to scientists to conduct CF research - Publishes brochures and fact sheets on CF information - Raises funds for research and treatment by holding a variety of local events throughout the year - Supports extensive clinical trials to test new drug therapies
