Foodborne and Waterborne Illness Hotline - Minnesota Department of Health

Hotline for reporting foodborne and waterborne illnesses within Minnesota. Hotline staff will collect information about symptoms, food eaten and when it was eaten during the 4 days before the illness began. They will also ask about drinking well water or if an individual went swimming in the two weeks before the illness. All information is private and will not be shared with anyone outside the public health system without permission. Callers may be asked to provide a stool sample to determine what caused the illness. The report will be forwarded to the environmental health staff responsible for inspecting restaurants and grocery stores.
