Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program is a supplemental food and nutrition program for women with a low-income, pregnant, breastfeeding, and/or postpartum and infants and young children who are at nutritional risk. The purpose is to prevent health problems and to improve the health of the program participants during critical times of growth and development. The WIC Program provides nutrition education, access to health services, referrals to health and other social services, and vouchers for supplemental foods. The food vouchers list the types and quantities of WIC foods that are consistent with the participant's nutritional needs.

Services can include injections, catheterizations, pain management, dementia care, and bandage changes to treat sores or infections. Health care is provided by or under the supervision of qualified nursing staff. - Blood pressure and blood sugar checks - Emergency preparedness - Foot care - Flu information - Health promotion - Maternal and child health care - Tobacco cessation - Tobacco retailer training to prevent youth purchases Please note: Individuals are encouraged to get vaccinations through their primary care clinic. The program provides a health assessment, nutrition educational services, and vouchers for healthy foods. This is a supplemental program and there are some financial eligibility requirements.

Community and adult basic education and senior citizen programs including ABE, ESL, and GED classes. Adult courses include: - Defensive driver training for ages 55+ - Breastfeeding and childbirth classes - Weight loss surgery support group - First aid/CPR classes for adults and infants

Provides educational classes to pregnant women, mothers, parents, or individuals making an adoption plan to engage in positive mentor relationships, life coaching, setting goals, and activities, with the opportunity to earn items. Items Earned by Participation: - Adult care items - Breastfeeding supplies - Infant care items such as clothing, diapers, diaper wipes, etc. - Maternity clothes voucher and baby clothing voucher - Pack N'Play and/or car seat Educational Classes Offered: - Breastfeeding education and support - Car seat safety education - Childbirth education - Doula services - Infant CPR - Infant care - Life groups - Life skills - Parenting - Safe sleep
